Thinks he is above the Law.
Powerful friends.
Completely fecks people over - has done all his life - for personal gain.
Usually gets away with everything to the long term cost of everyone else.
Not surprised in the least by this latest news.
...
but will probably pay his way out of it somehow.

More than likely forced too do so sadly.
Don't think his back is not or has not been covered over the years...
It's amazing what he has "got away with" and he has allies suckling from both major parties and probably the third also.
Vested interests and power within and across the spectrum..............
It stinks !!! ...and stank before today.

You have to give a nod though for managing to feck over so many in power to the point where nobody would dare to stop him... even with knowledge of the likely end game regards £.

Then he gets given "Sir". (check the timing of this if you are any doubt) but allow for when the process would have been started for this.
Then wonder why it happened when it did.
Then question who knew what / gained - and then see the way things have been managed since regards his "business" and his "family" - the way they were dealt with.
Compare it to how others would have been treated?

Peter Hain at least had the large round ones to finally say / find a way to put at least comma if not yet a full stop - to stop this (pick your own word xxxxxxxxxxxx).
I Just wish the non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) had been challenged years ago.
The system has protected the system for years.

I want this guy dragged through all the mud he has churned over the years and found easy to scoop under the carpet.
Those who benefited / knew - Also
Will it happen?
I doubt it somehow............

He'll end up with most of it.. and we'll get taxed for fighting the cases against him - Out gunned.
He /This / It's - Morally Bankrupt.
Some of his "a'hem crimes" would involve his assets being seized if it were another crime. Can you see this happening to him? Nah.......

I can't believe I have wasted my time posting this...........
A Blind Man On A Galloping Horse ... probably could see this years ago

Rumpus claimed to have been wined and dined on Greens yacht at Cannes last year. Green probably picked up a few bad habits from him.

What a t-wat this guy his. How he is not in prison for what he and his wife did with the pension funds f-uck only knows - hopefully he gets a stint inside now and gets to share a cell with Big Vern.

I saw his yacht last year docking into Monaco. I say yacht - it’s more like a ship....all paid for by the retirement savings of the people who worked for him for years.

And anyone who still thinks our peer and knighthood system is not corrupt and not based on money only needs to look at the tw-ats like Green and Branson who bought theirs.

His Arcadia Group has just about avoided entering administration, but it's worth noting that it's got a pension deficit of approx £750 million....

Some stores are going to be closed as a result of today's agreement and he's had to make various promises to the landlords to ensure they agree to CVA's.

That knighthood he was given for 'Services to the Retail Industry' is looking like it was given in error, especially after BHS collapsed.

He's a complete tosser. Got his knighthood off another, probably even bigger, tosser. IIRC, he asked the banks how much debt his empire could sustain and was told 1.2 billion. He then paid his wife, a Monaco resident a (tax fee) dividend of 1.2 billion. Shortly after he was knighted for services to the retail sector. It's all right for some.

So basically the combined pension deficits of BHS and Arcadia Group total around the same as this slimeball's net worth. Robbing the poor to feed the rich.

Complete and utter c-unt.
Robbed thousand of their pensions
Made thousands redundant
Transferred his wealth (sorry his employees pensions) to his c-unt of a wife.
Now has a ship bigger than Padiham that he regularly shows off in the likes of Monaco.

All that said I would allow him to keep his knighthood - but only on the condition that he changes his name and he is known for ever as “Sir C-unt”

He seems to have built up quite a sizable empire so I wont criticize him for that , most of us would love to be in his position , given a lot to charity over the years which he doesn't have to do . Not many people in life have not trod on a few toes to get what they want whether in business or otherwise .
You guys don't like him , I dont know him ,but he is a tremendous success and a little like Mike Ashley he gets and takes a lot of flak without it bothering him .

A tremendous success, but oddly his Arcadia group has a £750 million pension deficit and he lifted hundreds of millions out of the BHS pension pot before flogging it to a bankrupt crook, resulting in its collapse.

If being successful means running businesses at a loss and taking however much money he likes out of them, then hiding it all over in Monaco in his wife's name, then yeah he's successful.

Maybe the law needs changing , he,s still here with the BHS guy in prison . Taking money from pension schemes is definitely wrong but was it legal at the time ? and is it now illegal , i hope so.

Slow down, guys, neither Green nor his businesses, Arcadia or, previously, BHS "have taken money out of their pension schemes." That's just not how these deficits arise.

Process is:
1) employer sets up defined benefit pension scheme;
2) pension scheme is, typically, a trust and seperate from the employer;
3) employer pays in contributions - these contributions are agreed with the trustees of the pension scheme;
4) employees are also committed to make contributions, as deductions from their pay;
5) we can leave out the change in the tax rules that applied to pension schemes, if we like, but in 1997 Gordon Brown changed the tax rules, taking about £5 billion a year out of final salary pension schemes;
6) employees offered a pension for life from date of retirement - obviously, based on their length of service and salary on retirement, or average of 2/3 years before retirement;
7) people are, generally, living longer - which means pensions must be paid for longer - which means they cost the employer more;
8) the internet comes along and we all start shopping on-line - so, retail stores don't make as much as they used to;

Take all these things together, the pension deficits build up because we are living longer, because Gordon Brown changed the tax rules on pension scheme income and Arcadia and BHS were under financial pressure and didn't pay in enough into their pension schemes to make up for the longer lifes and GB's tax take.

Of course, possibly one of the reasons why BHS and Arcadia didn't pay in enough is because Mr and Mrs Green made decisions about dividends - and these payouts to themselves (and we all know Mrs Green is reported not to pay UK tax on her dividends) may have left BHS/Arcadia short of reserves which could have helped plug the pension deficit gap.

Odd how companies are being caught out by the longer lifespan thing, yet this issue crippled numerous American companies decades ago, because they were lavish and didn't expect people to live longer.
