Air pollution
Yesterday’s Times reported that legislation is to be introduced to fine car drivers who leave their engines running whilst stationery.
It has always puzzled me why the away supporters coaches parked in Harry Potts Way have their engines running belching out diesel fumes on us as we walk past. Can we bring some pressure to bear on BFC to outlaw this practice?

The average person is thick AF. Can you imagine somebody genuinely going with this?

A transit van parked outside my gran's house the other day for 40 minutes with the engine running. Must have money to burn.

If they want to make real money from fines then they've just got to stand by Taxi ranks...
It's also a push for people to buy newer cars which have the stop start technology.
Out of interest, how long are they allowing people to sit with an engine running?

There's no such thing as pollution. Its just the earth going through a cycle.

Re: Air pollution
The engine auto-stop is not that simple. Firstly cracking up an engine uses significantly more juice than when running normally. Secondly the starter motor soon gets knackered so lifetime carbon footprint increases as well as scrappage issue. Although many people have bought a new car before this happens, so it's someone else's problem.

The new motors don't use the starter motor for start stop tech, it's the auxiliary belt system I believe.basil6345789 wrote:The engine auto-stop is not that simple. Whilst stationery ?
The letter of the law needs to be applied and this practice stamped out..........

I do like the smell of all the recycled material the local councils have shipped to Malaysia being burnt across the causeway (officially recycled) in addition to various toxic gas releases.
