No, I dont think I said that in any of my post, in fact I'm certain I said it should be win win. I dont think that's achievable if the cricket club had no say.

These pictures were taken against Olympiacos back in August when, if I remember correctly, the Cricket Field home section wasn’t full, although it was busy.

These two pictures were taken within seconds of each other, showing the toilet and refreshment area, and through to outside of the stand. Obviously not everybody decided to go onto the concourse at half time either but, as you can see, there is no room.

How are they going to fit the extra fans in now we have a further 300 home seats?

Stunning photos there, Working_Class_Zero.

The final game for the Cricket Field terracing was 30.Dec.1967 and some 18 months later the new Cricket Field stand was opened for a pre-season game against Middlesbrough in August 1969.

The final game for the old Brunshaw Road stand was 23.Apr.1969.

51 years ago since we were at ground zero and now a very tired looking stand
The club would have come out by now if they were going to redevelop as with all planning development it would be from now at least 4 or 5 years away now if they were to submit anything
With all the patching up of the stand we can skrike as much as we want its staying

It is 51 years, but the original Brunshaw Road Stand was there even longer, much longer in fact.

On the opposite side was the old Star Stand which eventually became the ash covered Longside.

That was always the problem. The stand itself was a decent idea but the town, no matter which venue, would not be able to attract the sort of events that would have been needed.

I don't understand why it is considered 'arrogant' for the football club to made an appropriate offer to the cricket club to relocate. Nobody is forcing the CC to accept the offer. Or is nobody allowed to offer to buy land off anyone else any more in case it offends them?

Would it not be an option to stick something at either Fulledge or Queens park then have a park and ride / shuttle bus arrangement to the turf so their bar still gets a good amount of match day custom?

Could even arrange to use the facilities for some off site pre-match corporate facilities?

Making them an offer isn't arrogant, expecting them to just accept it and move is.

They looked at Fulledge around 15 years ago - it is not big enough, but why on earth should they move?

Surely it’s only a matter of time until that stand needs some serious attention. The brickwork here, for example, is obviously falling apart and looks extremely dangerous to anybody underneath. How has this not been actioned as it was like this months ago? :?

Some of the brickwork around the back of the stand, which you can’t see unless you’re on the Cricket Club land, is also similar lower down.

Is there no scope for the cricket club to move onto Townley somewhere which is literally a couple of hundred yards away which would then not affect their support base?

If so then the cricket club ground could be turned into a new stand with sports village and extra parking and some agreement made as to how the profits on car parking / bar revenue are split so that the Cricket club also don't lose money (in fact not only would they not lose income but would make money from us buying the land provided we agree a fee that is larger than the cost of building said new ground).

The money the cricket club makes on parking and beer sales would go a long way to their running costs for the year.
I cant see any offer that we may make would cover that tbh

Nope, still nobody just assuming the cricket club would just accept and move, just someone saying what their idea would be if they did move.

You really need to stop getting upset about this. It's not inconceivable that the CC might accept the right offer from the FC, but nobody is assuming or forcing them to.

Unless of course we offer them the same amount of money they are currently generating from these two things which I assume should be shown in their accounts?

The onus would then be on the football club to make sure what they put in place generates even more than this so that it is also profitable for them which I think should be doable.

Where you live and whether you are a member of BCC has no relation to the fact that you were wrong?

Nothing arrogant in my post at all just a suggestion as to how the club may look to offer some form of deal to put to the CC that may be appealing to them.

It's a nice discussion and looks as if you are just trying too hard to cause an argument where one isn't even happening.

So you're saying that the football club should pay the cricket club the amount they currently make each season from parking and food/beer sales, for ever?

How am I wrong? People may not have intended their posts to sound arrogant, doesn't mean they don't read as arrogant to some people. It's entirely subjective.

Yourself, and several others, have written posts that read to me, and clearly others, like any offer you are suggesting would be easily accepted by the CC. Simple as that. There's no argument being had.

What I was responding to was this. So it is related.
I haven't seen anyone suggesting that though. Just seems like a bunch of CC people getting their knickers in a twist.
Personally, I'd be surprised if the cricket club accepted any offer. They've been there a long time, it's their history and these things tend to be more emotional than financial.

Probably not forever no but maybe a decent period of time that is agreeable to both parties(this could be partially offset against the money the CC make from the land sale and relocation.

Or maybe an agreement could be reached in regards to joint staffing and running of the new venue that is put in place. Obviously it would be a very detailed negotiation from both sides but hopefully there is something that can be found that is agreeable to both parties (should the FC wish to actually pursue such a venture).

There is obviously scope for something, the land could incorporate a smaller training facility for the CC and there could be a fanzone of sorts with a bar owned and operated by the CC to keep their cash flow.

Lots of options to keep the money coming in, either they don't want to go or we don't want to buy.

In my opinion, any redevelopment of the CFS should incorporate the Cricket Club staying put. We have been neighbours for 130 odd years. There’s no reason that shouldn’t last for another century or so.

I think I’m correct in saying that the football club moved there following an invitation from the cricket club

I think we have used the cricket ground twice. While playing at Caldervale as a rugby team, we started a football team and the cricket club invited us to play there, as they saw the potential income from paying spectators, offering them an inducement of a team strip. The promised pitch turned out to be smaller pitch than expected. Things turned sour when the damaged cricket pitches were in poor condition come spring and the expected spectator income didn’t materialise, because people could watch the match for nothing standing outside the ground. When we moved back, they at first put tarpaulin sheets up to stop free viewing and increased the previously undersized pitch.

Surely the sensible option is not paying the Cricket Club any money, but, offering to build a purpose made pavilion attached to the rear of our new stand?

I realise it may encroach more onto their property, but when they would be getting a modern facility to utilise, and perhaps a jointly owned Fanzone area at the rear of that to continue their match day cash flow, surely it's win win and we all get what we want?

Are we not open to this (or they) or are we just not looking at large scale redevelopment of that stand and perhaps focusing our attention more on the Bob Lord being that the expansion possibilities there (backing on all the way to the edge of the offices etc) are more easily achieved with the potential for more seating etc?

I would be very keen to hear from MG and the board on what the ambitions are for the stadium.

I can't help but feel serious concerns about this stand and sincerely hope it is never ever a case of, "we told you so".

Undoubtedly some rational points and concerns raised here. Has anyone sent anything through to the club about their safety concerns? If not can someone post a name at the club I can send a link to of this page to please?

I don't sit in the Cricket Field so can't account for it with confidence but feel a sense of duty to follow this up.

Loose bricks, overcrowded concourses, these are things we wouldn't put up with in normal day to day life. I really think something needs to be done.

If there's an incident (eg a fire or a fight) then the ensuing melee and confusion could easily have the most serious of consequences.

But the point is, you and others would like them to move away, despite them being here longer than BFC.

Do you think we should move away from our current ground, given a good offer?

Undoubtedly some rational points and concerns raised here. Has anyone sent anything through to the club about their safety concerns? If not can someone post a name at the club I can send a link to of this page to please?

I don't sit in the Cricket Field so can't account for it with confidence but feel a sense of duty to follow this up.

Loose bricks, overcrowded concourses, these are things we wouldn't put up with in normal day to day life. I really think something needs to be done.

If there's an incident (eg a fire or a fight) then the ensuing melee and confusion could easily have the most serious of consequences.
Would the club be granted a safety certificate if there were any real concerns?

Do you think we should move away from our current ground, given a good offer?
I'm more than happy for them to stay. Depending on the offer I wouldn't mind us moving somewhere else in the town if it meant we could build a new ground at no cost to ourselves whilst keeping local and keeping our revenue streams.

With all the new seating (corner stands) & extra seats in Cricket Field stand what will our new capacity be for this season?
