Optimistically i'm gonna say 15th but I reckon we will make the last 16 and maybe the last 8 of one of the cups this year

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
If we were to go the season without any nasty injuries to key players, and the likes of Defour featured 60 minutes or more in most games, we can finish 10th-11th.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
I'll be happy with anything that avoids a relegation battle in the final run up. 14/15th.
Re: Where will Burnley Finish
The past two seasons in the prem have shown us that at out best, we could be a top 10 side ( top 8 probably) Thats looking at points return from August to January of 2 seasons ago with last seasons points from January onwards.
Unfortunately we have also shown that at our worst, we can be a bottom 5 side (bottom 3 maybe) That's looking at points from January onwards two seasons ago up till January of last season.
So, I'll guess and say 15th.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
As long as season ticket prices are frozen, we make a good 30m profit and finish 17th or above 90% of fans will be over the moon.
It wont signal a bad season if that happens, but it hardly wets my appetite, but maybe that's just me.

Mid table obscurity (12th to 15th) in reallity .... but if we continue last seasons 2nd half form ... I can see a top half finish.

If we sign two midfielders and bring in some pace up front, we'll be okay: 10th or 11th.

Comfortably 10th, not to far behind wolves, Everton, Leicester would be a good season. Fingers crossed too for an incredible cup run.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
Without any new signings the only two players who will more than likely improve are Tarky and McNeil.
To counter that we have at present a fully fit squad.
So round about where we finished this season.

Are you playing Devils Advocate? You know Dyche has no love for cup competitions, we have some good lads but we are never going to go far with our reserves.Devils_Advocate wrote:Optimistically i'm gonna say 15th but I reckon we will make the last 16 and maybe the last 8 of one of the cups this year

I'm going to place 1 (one) English pound on us winning the title. I haven't looked at the odds but if we succeeded I'm sure I would be able to live a very comfoirtable life.

Agreed. And I’m going to hazard a guess at nothing exciting in any of the cups.Billy Balfour wrote:I'll be happy with anything that avoids a relegation battle in the final run up. 14/15th.
Re: Where will Burnley Finish
If we sign no one, relegated. Has to bolster midfield and bring in a decent striker. Otherwise, I can’t see us continuing to grind out results.

I’m hoping for a far more consistent season. I don’t think we will suffer the terrible start we did last season. 9th would be very respectable.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
As things currently stand it could be as high as 15th or relegation.
We should never under estimate what our lads are capable of achieving. Booking another European qualification place will be tougher this season, but nothing is impossible.
However, we have too many exposed areas at the moment. Our road ahead is littered with potential banana skins and an unfortunate injury here and there could see us slipping out of the league, despite the best efforts of the manager and the players on the pitch.

13th/14th. I think we'll have at least 6 or 7 points more at the half way stage, thus making the season a bit more comfortable.
As long as SD remains in charge we won't be relegated.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
No reason why we can’t have a decent season. Defour & Brady will hopefully remain fit, and they were key players in the first half of the 2017/18 season, and with two or three new signings to boost the numbers I think we will be more than ok.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
17th - 11th
Interesting season ahead.
City and Liverpool will dominate again.
Spurs are well run but lack the depth of the above
United, Arsenal & Chelsea are all in a weird twilight zone of big clubs
Can Wolves improve with Europa League commitments?
Everton, Watford & Leicester aiming for safe upper mid with cup runs.
Palace may offload best players while Saint quietly tick along avoiding disaster.
Newcastle & Brighton hopefully somewhat thrown off by manager new managers.
Promoted teams are always at a disadvantage. Norwich and Sheff U will be favorites to go down

16th: It's going to be another tough season IMHO.
Key players will be Wood, Westwood, Taylor and McNeil.

18th. I'm always wrong at this so best to rule out at least one of the bottom 3 places.

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
We have to get close to 20 points by half way. I don’t think my mind could handle another rollercoaster like last season.
We need 2-3 signings to freshen the squad up, but my hopes for this coming season are mid table comfort and a good cup run, which we haven’t had for years.

We will do better than last season but the mid table games will be harder to get points. ( Palace, Everton etc )

Re: Where will Burnley Finish
I expect us to be in the relegation mix along with half a dozen sides. Hopefully a few of them will be as poor as Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff were last season. If so we'll be ok. If the standard at the bottom of the table is better then it could be a tough season.
17th.

15th.
That would be another very decent achievement for our club. Hopefully we'll be clear of finishing 18/19/20 with a few games to spare.

Champions League unless we also have a great cup run, which is possible, the it would be 8th

Although I’m happy to finish anywhere above the bottom 3, I think we will be top 14, possibly top 10.

Brighton, Newcastle, Norwich and Sheff United will all struggle so we'll finish 16th or above.
