Was hoping for a “Burnley are looking to sign...” rather than a “Burnley will sell for...” but there we go. I’d take Tomori mind, big sell on potential. And I’d take £40m for Tarks.

David Jones for free, 40 million for Tarkowski. What's the problem? Great business.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Nixon also reporting that Hull want Jimmy Dunn on loan.
Maybe we could use him to get a deal for Jarrod Bowen.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
With Defour returning from injury and the signing of Jones imminent we could be looking at some fresh legs in central midfield next season.
We just need to make sure we don’t let Jones nip off to speak to Sheff Utd or they could snare him from under our nose like they did with Jagielka.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
He's certainly younger than Crouch so it makes perfect sense.
I wonder what Boyd is up to?
Or maybe Wallace?
Wouldn't mind a bid in for Shackell too to replace Tarkowski.

Jones would have a positive influence on the squad with his experience and has something to offer on the pitch too. Look forward to him signing a contract.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Personally I don’t think Jones will sign as it would be an absolutely shocking piece of business for any club serious about retaining its Premier League status.
Whatever I may say about our business, I simply refuse to believe we would be so mad as to do a thing like that.

His record of gaining promotions from the Championship would suggest that we’re looking at a two year deal with him guiding us back up into the PL in 2021/2022.SGr wrote:Personally I don’t think Jones will sign as it would be an absolutely shocking piece of business for any club serious about retaining its Premier League status.

Wanyama apparently available at Spurs, not sure he would command a great fee but if for he’d be a good singing for us, wages may be a stumbling block however, Interesting to see that spurs are looking to sell quite a few this summer

No one linked with Tripps yet, including us.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a lot of interest in him. he'd certainly walk into most premier teams.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Agree on those wanting Jones back; Grezza played on until 52, so reason why Jones can't either.
Also worth considering he lost his hair relatively early for a footballer which would suggest pace was never his main asset, and thus we could squeeze another 6 years minimum out of him. On a free, that would represent simply stunning business.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I would hope we are in for Jarrod Bowen at Hull, however Hull's willingness to sell may be linked with Maguire leaving Leicester as they will be due a large sell on fee should he leave, the size of which may mean they can ramp the price up or not sell at all, though the player himself can have a say in that as know doubt he will be open to a move to the Premier League.

So frustrating though, clubs know we have the cash and hold us to ransom, and we miss out on our true targets and fill the squad with players like Wells & Vydra.....frustratingClaretTony wrote:Don’t think we will miss out on all our targets at all.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Still hoping for Vydra to be given enough game time (even in this year's pre season friendlies) to show his attributes
Due diligence certainly way off the mark from SD given the number of minutes these two have got on the pitch

Some players will do anything to get a move!
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Hopefully not but things have moved on again since last season and transfer fees and wages are even more ridiculous. I just don't see our frugal approach enticing players here with the amount of money other clubs are throwing at it.ClaretTony wrote:Don’t think we will miss out on all our targets at all.
My realistic expectations are that Defour, Brady, JBG and Lennon are back to full fitness, we hold on to Tarks, McNeil and Gibson and we sign Jayrod with the clause in his contract. I don't even see us replacing Ward because Mee can play LB with Gibson in the middle.
I'm not being negative or critical of the club, just realistic.

I’m certain we will sign a left back, more so since Steve Stone said we will be getting Ali Koiki out on loan again.Firthy wrote:Hopefully not but things have moved on again since last season and transfer fees and wages are even more ridiculous. Anything less than a left back, centre mid and forward will be an underwhelming transfer window. Plenty of time to do that.

You may be right and it would not surprise me. What's happened to the great approach we had 2/3 year's ago in signing the next in the production line like Keane, Tarks and Charlie and Pope? Surely these ypung players should be bending over backwards to be Dyched.

I think most would agree with that. Jayrod, up and coming LB and marquee signing in midfield would be a respectable window. Ideally Crouch retiring and another young player with pace would be a good window for us.

I've heard we're trying re-sign Ian Moore to inject a bit of pace into our attack, but we can't meet his wage demands of £2 a week.
