Depends on understanding logic. And besides - we don't generally sign up and coming stars because they go to, as I tried to state, clubs like Chelsea and the like.

We will sign youngsters when the top clubs don't want them.

Crouch, not for me, but was no more than short term deal.

More than happy with Pieters who is younger than all those and is an experienced Premier League player.
Absolutely, Walts could still tear it up. Particularly if we get Lenno and Defour(o) fit and firing on all cylinders. Any chance of a short term contract for Walts ? Would be great to have his experience in and around the dressing room, lending a hand to the younger lads from Stoke like Bards and Eric.

Can’t see how anyone could criticise this signing. An incredibly experienced premier league left back, still only 30 whose transfer is well within budget.

Welcome to the Turf Erik !

They are clearly not happy with their latest manager. Did a really good job at Luton though.

You certainly wouldn't need to say that to Crouch, would you?

Now, I wonder if this player who was only ever on a short term deal will sign that contract extension that's on the table for him? Hmmm.

Given how long it was until he was fit after we signed him one of those people must have been Dyche knowing we wouldn't pick up any injuries in the first half of the season.

Half of the players they've signed were ones they had on loan last season. They're keeping that team together with the signings.

According to a few Villa fans I know Mings made a huge difference after he went there on loan, not at all surprising they went back for him.

Feel free to name me any team in the Premier League who has not made expensive transfers that have not gone as well as they hoped....and whilst you are trying to find one tell me the teams who over the past 5 years have made less expensive mistakes than Burnley.

Seriously you are living in cloud cuckoo land - you don’t like Dyche or his football or his transfers or the fact that he is pretty much solely responsible for making our club financially stable for many years to come.

You think his football is awful to watch forgetting the great football we played to get 2 promotions and the great football we played at other times - especially the season before last.

Seriously i’d suggest you follow a different club if you think it can get better than the last 6 years.
Not just me pal speak to any other premier league teams supporters and we don't get a good write up

You guys realise that Boden probably does hear about transfers well before he posts them, but is given the information under confidence. If he betrays that confidence, then he will no longer be told anything from the club again.

Yeah, no idea why Boden is getting so much stick. He has to be a ‘club man’ in his role. And as we all know, Dyche keeps all cards close to his chest. Same reason Nicko knows **** all these days.

John Percy only knows about this because of his ties to Stoke.

Looks a very decent signing. We let a 33 year old reserve left back go and bring in someone 3 years younger. If he has the same attitude as Phil Bardsley he will fit in fine. Can’t see any reason to criticize the club here. Now if we were looking to start the season with that dynamic duo of Charlie Adam and Stuart Downing I could understand some murmurings of discontent!

Why would we buy a player to take Taylor’s place when he had such a brilliant season ?

If we buy players who might go straight into the first team it’s in other positions we need them - not left back.
That was the point I made though. Pietersen isnt better than Taylor, so why waste money him as a back up

We need a left back. Now we could go for a first choice or a back up for Taylor who is good enough to step in when required. So I’ve absolutely no problem with this deal.

It’s not always about improving the team, it’s about improving the squad. We are doing just that.
That arguments fine when you are comfortable in the league. It was fine the first year we stayed up, as the squad was definitely weak. We are in a position now, where we have to improve the starting XI. If you stand still at this level, you get overtaken.
We know the money isnt a bottomless pit, so spending any of it on a back up for a player who if not injured will probably play the full season is a waste. Nothing against Pieters, just I think we should be prioritising elsewhere.
