Future Claret does it again!
Yesterday was the Mataro indoor football tournament 2019.
Vito (The Soccer Kid and future 50 goal a seaon Burnley striker) finished top scorer with an incredible 14 goals!
I was lucky enough to capture 11 goals with my cameras, 3 goals with his left, 8 goals with his right.
You have NEVER seen a nine-year-old score goals like these, for goals 4,5 and 8 I had to slow the film down just to see the ball!
ENJOY...

By the way camera enthusiasts, correct me if I'm wrong but will I get better resolution from my sports cameras if I get better microsd cards?

Some bloody good goals there from the lad. For a 9 year old, that's impressive.

Looked very good. VAR for a few of them at 5-a-side, are they playing futsal?

Yes, I'm not sure of the rules they play here as he normally plays football 7 on a proper pitch. The call it Futbol Sala here and there's no offside.Tricky Trevor wrote:Looked very good. VAR for a few of them at 5-a-side, are they playing futsal?

Yes, the little lad with the blond hair (know as Pichi) scored a few too so I edited them and sent them to his dad, Jose, but they mainly play the tactic "just get the ball to Vito".dpinsussex wrote:Wonder if his mates managed to score any ?

We've been working on power since he was one-year-old but he had a kind of mental block about using it until now.bfccrazy wrote:This was my thoughts. Looks to have a rocket of a right foot.
I put it down to the kids at school telling him he wasn't allowed to "shoot hard".
Another problem is that his club won't listen to me and put him in defence for a year to learn different aspects of the game, they've always played him as a striker where, as you know, the bulk of the game happens behind you. A spell in defence learning how to run, recover, tackle and also how a f*ck up can cost the game would be very handy imho.
If you watch his videos carefully you'll see he actually preferes to score with his first or second touch and he's also started using his strength to get past and round defenders this past year, before he would hang around in space waiting for a pass and not fight for it.

What you been doing to work on power? Clearly worked. Got power issue for my daughters shot. She has the rest of the game just needs to be able to unleash that powerClaret-On-A-T-Rex wrote:We've been working on power since he was one-year-old but he had a kind of mental block about using it until now.

Head down, look at the ball when she strikes it and follow through.dpinsussex wrote:What you been doing to work on power? Clearly worked. Got power issue for my daughters shot. She has the rest of the game just needs to be able to unleash that power

Find a wall to practice against that makes a nice "boom" when a really powerful shot hits it and give it a nickname, we call Vito's "Thundersmashers".
Give a reward too for ten Thundersmashers in a row in training, it's harder for kids than you think.
If you're happy with her touch and technique then put that on hold and just practice Thundersmashers until she can really hit them with power but that isn't the be-all, remember that a good, calm finish beats a powerful miss.
Don't be surprised if you don't see them in a game though, Vito has been able to hit the ball with incredible force since four-years-old but is only now bringing it to competitive games because he was more afraid to miss or hurt the goalkeeper so he he always underpowered his finish.

Also, explain to her about energy and turning potential energy into power. Show her how to shift her weight from foot to foot.
If you watch Vito's fourth goal he twists and leaps and literally puts everything into his right boot.
*Don't neglect the left peg either, it shouldn't be just for standing on.

A wall is unbeatable. Alternate right foot, left foot and two touch; Kill it, hit it.
Eventually it’s natural. then vary it, top of boot, inside, outside. Mark a spot on the wall and aim for that.

She doesnt care about hurting people. Old fashioned defender that will take man and ball and then leave them on the floor.

Exactly, on the wall we practice against there's a metal panel that makes a tremendous noise if the ball smacks it with powerTricky Trevor wrote:A wall is unbeatable. Alternate right foot, left foot and two touch; Kill it, hit it.

Skills that we all have in our mind, but there they remain.
As a useless footballer, and then some, I just don't understand how some people find it such a natural thing
Serious Kudos there, that's some talent

It doesn’t have to be natural, it’s better if it is. Practise is what counts, repetition drills.Croydon Claret wrote:Skills that we all have in our mind, but there they remain.

I have none of the gifts that footballers need;pace, power, physique but I could do most things with a ball off either foot just by practising.

Reads the game very well. Strong in the tackle just lacks power in the kick.
That said just took her to casualty this morning.
Damage to knee min 2 weeks rest. It's going to kill her doing nothing
