Welcome home Jay. Indeed one of our own.
Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
So CT, are you divulging what your third article is?
Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
Very interesting to reflect on the Club he left and the one he has returned to with all the changes at Gawthorpe in particular.
Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
Now cannot wait for the new season.............to see Jay Rod run out again will be a terrific moment in football for me.

Absolutely not. I didn't divulge these two either. As it happens, I don't think we'll get the third one now.TopCat wrote:So CT, are you divulging what your third article is?

The one thing we know here is that we've signed a player who we know wants to play for us. He's going to be living all our dreams again, a Claret playing for Burnley.

Delighted with the two signings so far.

I did not see that one coming!
Good signing, good value.
Now to see what happens regarding Heaton, Hart and Tarkowski (if anything), and central midfield.

Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
And after putting pen to paper on his new deal, bringing to an end a two-year spell with the Baggies, Sean Dyche’s second summer signing flew to Portugal on Monday evening to join fellow new boy Erik Pieters and the rest of the Clarets squad"
He signed yesterday according to the Burnley FC web page..... and is out in Portugal after flying out last night....

I would think the paper work would have been done at this end so potentially he could have signed yesterday before flying out to join the squad.Bosscat wrote:And after putting pen to paper on his new deal, bringing to an end a two-year spell with the Baggies, Sean Dyche’s second summer signing flew to Portugal on Monday evening to join fellow new boy Erik Pieters and the rest of the Clarets squad"

Brilliant news ,but strange that it appears that the signing wasn't triggered until Crouch finally confirmed he wasn't returning to the club after we gave him the option.

Or that this was the last week to get him for the knock down fee before West Brom could get back to being West Brom with player negotiations.northeastclaret wrote:Brilliant news ,but strange that it appears that the signing wasn't triggered until Crouch finally confirmed he wasn't returning to the club after we gave him the option.

Great to see JRod back. The only question now- will his debut be at Crewe or Port Vale? Is it a question of getting to Sandbach Services and waiting for the team news?

Will he get his song back?
Or will Dwight McNeil hang on to it?
Or can we sing it for both?

Be a bit odd to sing ‘Dwight McNeil, he’s one of our own’ to Jay Rod.Quickenthetempo wrote:Will he get his song back?

Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
I knew he'd played a lot of games for West Brom but I was surprised that it was so many and one of the two he missed was at the end of last season when they rested him for the play offs. 76 starts, 6 sub and 2 games missed.ElectroClaret wrote:82 appearances out of a possible 84 is really brilliant.

Time to come up with something better for McNeil, he's not even a local lad so the song doesn't fit at all anyway.Quickenthetempo wrote:Will he get his song back?

Re: ARTICLE: One of our own has made his way home
This is good news because we know what he can (or could) do and he is going to give his all for the team. But will he start? Despite my criticisms of Barnes I have to say the two lads performed great in the 2nd half of last season and Barnes in-particular came of age in the PL. Something tells me that Jay is not going to stroll into the team. However Barnes and Wood now know they have to up their game even more becuase Jay will be prowling like a hungry lion in the wings if he's not playing.
What a superb problem Dyche will now have.
Happy bunny here.

How many players does our senior squad have now?

Deffo lost some of his pace but he is an intelligent player so can make up for that, it'll be great when he scores the winner against Saints on the opening day !Untinted Glasses wrote:Yes I suppose your right, has any one seen him at WBA play?
