Re: Jay Rod interview
Great interview. One thing we are definitely getting is a good lad who will work his socks off. And has a fair bit of talent to go with it. And should settle very easily into this team. Had he not had those injuries there is probably no chance he would be back here now as he was destined for a club like Spurs.
At 10m we have really improved the squad with this one for the next couple of seasons at least. Front four looks a hell of a lot better than the one that finished the season.

Agree it’s all a bit Southern hipster for the likes of us Northerners I’d have thought. Great to have him back though. Looking forward to seeing him again.Claret Till I Die wrote:Will he be having a haircut ?

Would love him to go back to his original haircut. Think being down south has changed him. Get him to the barbers!

Re: Jay Rod interview
A great signing. Well done the Board for making two great additions to the squad without breaking the bank. I have posted several times about JR. I am a huge fan.He showed great attitude when WBA got relegated-Dawson refused to go on pre-season, Ben Foster defected to Watford, several others went too (Livermore). I think JR will have his best ever year . He is strong, physical, good with both feet and in the air, works hard and great with half chances. For a team that plays 442 he is perfect when we go away from home and drop one of the front two back as the link player. We have tried it with De Four and Hendrick but not mastered it. Above all JR has that big game mentality. He will be our top goal scorer and score some spectacular goals. Reminds me of Robbie Blake coming back
I fear we will lose both Tom (very sadly) and Hart( a great no 2 for any PL side). Don't be surprised if we go for someone like Scott Carson as Pope's No 2
An athletic defensive CM player now and we have an awesome squad as long as we lose no-one else
Just as importantly a good pre-season will give a few guys a stage-ie Vydra, Robbie Brady after his injury, and Gibson. I am not into this "people are not happy sitting on the bench. , To have any chance in the PL these days you need the strongest first eleven and bench possible And none of this Europa League qualifications which seriously scupper pre-season
The future's bright. The future's claret !!

The spelling in some of the regular articles on the club site is always poor. I'm amazed that nothing is ever said about this.

Seems like anything other than short back and sides is too out there for some Burnley folk. Apparently Jay drinks cappuccinos too - the big pansy.

Re: Jay Rod interview
I heard the interview on radio blackburn. It will be available on the BBC iplayer or sounds app. It was around 6:55pm on 9th July. Earlier in the programme there was an interview with Steve Davies (may be misspelled) re the Jay transfer too.Bullabill wrote:Crap. I've never been able to make Claretsplayer work.

Re: Jay Rod interview
We all know what happened when Delilah took scissors to Samsons hair.... his hair might be the reason for his strength
Leave the lad alone
I couldn't care less about his bloody hair ffs... its what he does on the pitch that counts

Could be the longest hair in Burnley FC history. Can't remember anyone even in the seventies with hair that length.

Did anyone else genuinely think the hair had been photoshopped on?
I confess, I did.

But welcome back, Jay.
Got long hair and we don't care - as long as he plays well and scores goals.

Re: Jay Rod interview
Said he didn't celebrate when he scored a goal against us - he loves Burnley and he is yet to see the new Gawthorpe.
Recognises he needs to get into the team ahead of the existing strikers.

Ralph coates comb over would give Jay a good run and if Jay can play on the wing and score 22 goals a season we will be ecstatic
