Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
I've spoken to our friends at Art of Football today. They've started producing a new design of shirt, club by club, but there isn't one as yet for Burnley. We thought it might be a good idea that you help them select some appropriate Burnley kits. I know we will all have different ideas to select nine different shirts but if you can put your ideas on this thread, we'll see which are the most popular.
I've attached a pic of their Aston Villa shirt to give you some idea as to what they are doing.

Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
Like the artwork, but it all sounds pretty random in the kit selection. Can’t say I’m impressed with the design.
Not being argumentative, but a genuine question have they some connection with the board / club? (I don’t know them)
Is it not just someone making unofficial merchandise, for company profit at the expense of the club? If so why are they “our friends” while posters are banned from private advertising?

Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
Can they do them without the betting adverts?
Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
You’d have to start with the kits we’ve won different leagues in, 59/60, 72/73, 81/82, etc. From a personal point of view the late 70s ‘V’ strip, it was the first one I saw us play in.

I hated that V strip but I think it would have to be included to be honest.martin_p wrote:You’d have to start with the kits we’ve won different leagues in, 59/60, 72/73, 81/82, etc. From a personal point of view the late 70s ‘V’ strip, it was the first one I saw us play in.

On the subject of adverts - I think there would have to be at least one Endsleigh shirt on there. No other sponsor lasted longer.levraiclaret wrote:Can they do them without the betting adverts?

Really liked their iconic moments range and got my brother the Danny Ings goal at b*stards t-shirt. Not keen on this idea myself but Im sure plenty of others will be and it sounds a great idea to get input from people on here

V shirt every time for me.
Also love the classic plain claret crew neck shirt that I remember the likes of Frank Casper wearing.
A tribute to our last league winning side of 59/60 might also be fitting.

The white one with the thin horizontal claret stripes from 2017/18 season I think it was.ClaretTony wrote:Would you include any away shirts and if so which?
Oh, and the jade and black halved one of course
Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
For me the classic away shirt is the 80s yellow one with the claret and blue stripes from shoulder to neck. Always think of Billy Hamilton when I see that one for some reason.

My ultimate favourite for all time was the one when we won the first division title. Timeless classic.

The 1st Premier League shirt should be included for me.

Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
It's easier to just forget the idea and produce a t-shirt that looked like this one. I'm not fussed if it was the one with the blue "collar" or the yellow one. The shirt was perfect.TVC15 wrote: Also love the classic plain claret crew neck shirt that I remember the likes of Frank Casper wearing.
The only shirt that I have loved as much is an old "Amicon" Twente Enschede away shirt in light blue with yellow trim. It has always made me look far leaner than I actually am. A design legend.

Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
I see their design is 3x3 but but 3 whites as a base, 3x3 claret above and a couple of blues for the sleeves would be epic.ClaretTony wrote:Would you include any away shirts and if so which?
The whites would have to include 59-60 and the recent one with “the clarets” encircling it.
The blues would be Wembley’09 and the recent dafabet sponsored beauty,

The one with no sponsors logo from the Kevin Ball era.
Think he was wearing it when he kicked fat Dunn up in the air.

I’d include the one from The Orient Game

Re: Design a Burnley shirt with Burnley shirts
Equally. You can’t not include a goalkeeper shirt. And that shirt would HAVE to be the Wembley 1994 one. Our first Wembley win?

That goal keeper top was unreal! I remember the padding on the elbows. One of the national teams wore the save design but I can’t remember who it wascricketfieldclarets wrote:Equally. For me I'd have 8 Claret and blue shirts around the Wembley 09 shirt.

Yes that’s the only one for me, not only do I like it because it’s in the traditional claret and blue but it isn’t polluted with a sponsors name plastered over the front.ElectroClaret wrote:The one with no sponsors logo from the Kevin Ball era.
