What about Maehle? Nothing been said on this despite Nixon saying we have offered £7m.

Re: Malinovskyi & Maehle
I would imagine it's pronounced "Mahlay"
Re: Malinovskyi & Maehle
No happening according to Boden.
‘ Little snippet from Belgium, Burnley linked with Genk pair at the weekend, but Atalanta have signed midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi for a reported €13.7m, and while there is interest in Joakim Mæhle, the club want to keep him at least another season ahead of Champions League’

Good news. Should pave the way for Jonah to sign on a perm.

Tom Heaton did when we first signed for us but he soon thought better of it and moved awayrandomclaret2 wrote:Do many of our players live in Burnley ?

Could there be mileage in a 9m deal for him to join next season when Bardsley will have left?Steddyman wrote:No happening according to Boden.

Re: Malinovskyi & Maehle
I knew nothing about that one, it is something that just came from Nixon initially when he also reported we were in for Malinovskyi when he was already having his medical at Atalanta. Malinovskyi was the one I had the article written for that I said a week or so ago that I didn't expect to use, the ship had sailed long before he went to Atalanta.jedi_master wrote:What about Maehle? Not quite true tony, it was reported in the sun on Sunday morning, he didn't arrive in Italy for his medical later that day. I know people don't like Nixon, but it would appear he was right about our interest, just a little too late.ClaretTony wrote:I knew nothing about that one, it is something that just came from Nixon initially when he also reported we were in for Malinovskyi when he was already having his medical at Atalanta. Or a buy now, loan back for a season. I know it's not the Burnley way, but it depends how much BFC want himZizkovClaret wrote:Could there be mileage in a 9m deal for him to join next season when Bardsley will have left?

Re: Malinovskyi & Maehle
My 11 year old son knew the name as soon as I said we are supposedly looking at a young right back at Genk. He smiled and said I signed him on Fifa 19 he’s a beast best scout report I will get on him. Wait till tonight when I tell him we aren’t getting him he’ll be gutted!

It was reported last Friday that he was going to Atalanta by the Belgian media but I knew a week earlier that we weren’t getting him. Nixon would have been right a couple of weeks earlier but the ship had long sailed.Grumps wrote:Not quite true tony, it was reported in the sun on Sunday morning, he didn't arrive in Italy for his medical later that day. Genk seem to be selling quite a few players.

Re: Malinovskyi & Maehle
Like most clubs the % of players we sign having been linked with them in the media beforehand is very low. That % for us involving overseas players is even lower.
In reality I suspect our “interest” in overseas players rarely amounts to much.
