HTFC - Home Kit

Post by MarkGreen » Wed Jul 17, 2019 9:23 am

Promoting gambling...

Paddypower's announcement video is just a big troll too - https://twitter.com/paddypower/status/1 ... 5263607814" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's got to be a joke, surely?

Wow! That’s more of a Paddy Power kit with a little bit of Huddersfield advertising. Truly horrendous!

They have also just signed Max and Alan Power.

That paddy power bit is surely a sash and comes off doesn't it ?

Yikes. I'm guessing that's a joke from their social media team? Otherwise, it's setting the bar in selling out.

More of a Paddy Power FC with a hint to Huddersfield's past.

It’s got to be a joke hasn’t it. Surely the sash will be removed later on today and they’ll unveil a different kit with smaller sponsor? Clever marketing if so - unless the actual kit also looks sh!te.

Isn’t there a rule on the size of sponsor logos that this would surely break? If so then it’s obviously not the real kit.

Nah, they'll do the whole 'fan backlash' thing, something a bit more traditional (probably with a different sponsor) will be released within a week

There was and it was certainly a lot smaller than the one we have on ours so it has clearly changed.

This shirt is absolutely ridiculous.

Even the article screams 'joke' to me though.
The instantly recognisable green logo of the main sponsor is proudly emblazoned across the chest of the shirts in a new twist for the kit; a diagonal strip ranging from the shoulder down to the hip.
A few points on this baord being made about the specifications of a sponsor size, which is also being dug up on twitter with people looking into official FA regulations.

Not to mention that PaddyPower are known for being wind up merchants.

This is just very very clever marketing by PaddyPower. Gets people talking. Gets people spreading the image..and their name all over social media. At some point they will show the proper kit. At least that is what Huddersfield fans will be hoping

Look at Huddersfields horrific kit, with the worlds biggest gambling sponsor right across it!

Looks terrible IMO, looks more like PaddyPower FC sponsored by Huddersfield FC.

It completely takes over and spoils the shirt.

Seemingly not. That is hideous and no mistake - it looks like a sash !!

The advert's too big to be real. They're only allowed 250 square centimetres (40 square inches), so if the sash is 2 foot long then it can only be an inch and a half wide.

That screams joke.

“Wearable uniform for the fan”

“The elasticated waistband gives support and security for the whole 90 minutes”

“the new ‘sash’ style logo is really eye-catching and helps maintain our reputation as being innovators too”

“famous Paddy Power logo”

As much as it may be a gag - there are currently 1000s of HT fans' responses on Twitter on HT official account voicing their (increasingly angry!) negative opinions. I like a wind-up as much as the next person but it may be that some people don't find the funny side even if they do reveal a more palatable version :)

The price of advertising......?

It’s now 90 mins since it was released and the neutrals have taken more interest in Huddersfield than the entirety of last season already.

Clever marketing for sure but it’s going to get a lot of fan’s backs up. Not sure it’s worth the storm of negativity that will spew because of this.

Absolutely dreadful and it's pushing at the boundaries re sponsorship on shirts which means if it IS actually real (could be a clever wind up) then in the coming seasons other clubs will be following as the ££££ become too lucrative to turn down. I can only hope not.

If anybody has ever seen their fan denial videos (if you haven't, google them as some of them are comedy gold).......the social media storm is exactly what they are hoping for!

It's genius marketing and provides content for their regular campaigns.

Tedious marketing campaign by 'bantz' loving gambling company.

"Oh it was a joke all along, aren't they funny". No, they're a despicable gambling company who do this sort of thing to make themselves look fun and quirky.

There needs to be a rule introduced by the F.A. that limits the size of these logos on shirts, ours is bad enough but this beggars belief. I really can't see them selling many but stranger things do happen.
