Not sure If suppliers/contractors who work for them would agree. A couple of years ago I was talking to a company who did some car park work for them and another outfit who marked them out. Six months to get paid and they refused to pay bank charges.

Tesco's pay their suppliers after a number of months, it isn't just a Utd thing.
Some garages are the same and the BBC also took months, sometimes up to 6, when it owed money to the bloke near me who used to make the unusual cars for Top Gear.

I'm not saying others don't pay on 28 days, I was commenting on United who agreed to pay on 28 days as per the terms on their PO. I don't think the glamour boys in the dressing room would wait six months.

Wont Bolton incur an additional points deduction for failing to fulfil the Brentford fixture ?

As far as I know the EFL have yet to address that issue. But they will have to dock points.

Now forced to call off the friendly with PNE on Tuesday - only have 1 left before season starts and increasingly fewer players left

It's looking desperate. They're surely not going to be in a position to play their first fixture
at Wycombe two weeks today, unless they sort everything out in the next few days?

Hope they sort it out, but not hopeful.

I'm past caring now, this has gone longer than the brexit chaos, just put them out of their misery, the creditors will never get paid anyway.

If football needs a lesson in how not to run a club it's Bolton, hopefully this will act as a wake-up call, but given previous history,Portsmouth,Blackpool,Coventry etc,i wouldn't hold my breath.

Poor owd Bowton

Looks like they could be crashing out of the league and will then follow the likes of our dear old friends from Stockport.

I seriously hope they can sort this mess out. I always enjoyed our fixtures and Wanderers are a good old fashioned club like ourselves

I think they lost the good old fashioned tag when they moved to Horwich and spent money they didn't have.

Why don't the Bolton fans just pack it in and come and support us, don't they realise we are at least 10 years ahead of them.

Really liked Burnden Park, then they put the supermarket up....

The Reebok was certainly ambitious, but the feeling is not the same.
Seems almost ironic now....I would walk five hundred miles Edmundson holding them up to be emulated by us.

Burnden Park had a great atmosphere and was certainly a dodgy one in the late 70s,especially on a night match making your way back to the train station.

Don’t care.

I hope they enjoy their memories of paying the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Ivan Campo 50 grand a week and know that it led them to ruin.

Bitter about Coyle? No, very much over that. I have had the pleasure of their fans company many times and not a good experience once. Football needs a club to go bust to look at itself in the mirror when you see City buying 16 year olds for £8m - I can think of none better than this lot.

Oh I can think of one better at least. I’ve not much I can add about the situation at Bolton other than for us all to look at it very closely and then consider our club.

I get as frustrated as anyone else when I think we might have had a better window but just imagine if we were in this state right now. I’d much rather we have it the way it is than risk the possibility of being in this terrible state.

,

Spot on jm,Portsmouth did exactly the same under happy Arry,100k a week for Sol Campbell,to name just one,and then when it went tits up,they expected sympathy,no flippin chance you reap what you sow, this shows why it's precarious to rely on one individual bankrolling any club,or writing off debts, sooner or later the s**t hits the fan,i wouldn't mind but even when they went down to League 1 in 2016-17,they still had a crazy wage bill,no wonder they bounced straight back, clearly these costs weren't sustainable hence why they are in such a mess now,the warning lights have been flashing for several years, and despite this they splashed the cash, hell mend them, the true fans will stick with them even if they have to restart at the bottom of the league pyramid, the glory hunters will no doubt return to their PL darlings,Man Utd,Liverpool et al.

And really what did they achieve, they had a decent run in the Europa League for a couple of seasons, but beyond that they haven't got much of a legacy for the hundreds of millions thrown at all those big name signings.

If they survive this crisis, they'll kick off in the same division as Accrington Stanley (who are they),Fleetwood(at least they'll get to visit Highbury) and Rochdale, they are ultimately no better off league wise than the late 1980's.

Absolutely. Frustrating as our transfer dealings may be to some Clarets, at least if and when we do get relegated, we will be in a decent position on and off the pitch.

We should be grateful to Bolton for showing 80 or so League clubs exactly how not to operate. Serves 'em right.

Im sure the financial brains at the club are prepared for our relegation, if and when it comes, and have planned accordingly.

The decline started well before Coyle took over.
He was just the final nail in their PL coffin, because they'd been in a steady decline for a number of seasons.

We will be in a good position if (big if) ..the big sums of money we've pulled in and not squandered on players, the club infrastructure or the stadium are still around in the coffers of BFC...money can vanish, and often does.

Blackpool did better (thus far) than Bolton.

"Blackpool manager Jose Riga revealed he only had nine players eligible on the morning of their Championship season opener against Nottingham Forest." (09/08/2014)

Administrators of the club and hotel likely to get around £1.5m by the time everything is over, possibly (probably) more. Detail emerging on the creditors to the hotel and they are going to fare much worse than the ones for the club it seems

How can one company lend £1.2m to another company. Then that company lend £700k to the original company? When both companies are broke? :?:

If Bolton & Bury go to the wall it will affect the end of next season.
Only two relegated?
Six promoted?
What will happen to Div 2 playoffs?
If it isn’t already these decisions should be sorted before a ball is kicked.

Totally agree why should the rest of the league suffer, also once the fixtures start teams will have points on the board, which they could see disappear later in the season,it's possible that could be the difference in promotion/relegation issues, and any play-off placings.

This farce is becoming ridiculous now, neither Bolton or Bury can even field an 11 for heavens sake, how can they embark on a full league campaign.

With the league now officially in place, if either or both of them don't fulfill their fixtures they will be placed at the bottom and, in effect, take one of the relegation places. So only two others would be relegated with four going up. Then, of course, they have to work it out right down the pyramid.
