Some garages are the same and the BBC also took months, sometimes up to 6, when it owed money to the bloke near me who used to make the unusual cars for Top Gear.

This is great news for Stanley BTW,both Bolton and Bury will start the campaign on -12,gives Accy a real shot of another season in the 3rd tier.
Re: Bolton
I'm not saying others don't pay on 28 days, I was commenting on United who agreed to pay on 28 days as per the terms on their PO. I don't think the glamour boys in the dressing room would wait six months.

As far as I know the EFL have yet to address that issue. But they will have to dock points.

If football needs a lesson in how not to run a club it's Bolton, hopefully this will act as a wake-up call, but given previous history,Portsmouth,Blackpool,Coventry etc,i wouldn't hold my breath.

Looks like they could be crashing out of the league and will then follow the likes of our dear old friends from Stockport.
I seriously hope they can sort this mess out. I always enjoyed our fixtures and Wanderers are a good old fashioned club like ourselves

The Reebok was certainly ambitious, but the feeling is not the same.
Seems almost ironic now....I would walk five hundred miles Edmundson holding them up to be emulated by us.

I hope they enjoy their memories of paying the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Ivan Campo 50 grand a week and know that it led them to ruin.
Bitter about Coyle? No, very much over that. I have had the pleasure of their fans company many times and not a good experience once. Football needs a club to go bust to look at itself in the mirror when you see City buying 16 year olds for £8m - I can think of none better than this lot.

I get as frustrated as anyone else when I think we might have had a better window but just imagine if we were in this state right now. I’d much rather we have it the way it is than risk the possibility of being in this terrible state.

Spot on jm,Portsmouth did exactly the same under happy Arry,100k a week for Sol Campbell,to name just one,and then when it went tits up,they expected sympathy,no flippin chance you reap what you sow, this shows why it's precarious to rely on one individual bankrolling any club,or writing off debts, sooner or later the s**t hits the fan,i wouldn't mind but even when they went down to League 1 in 2016-17,they still had a crazy wage bill,no wonder they bounced straight back, clearly these costs weren't sustainable hence why they are in such a mess now,the warning lights have been flashing for several years, and despite this they splashed the cash, hell mend them, the true fans will stick with them even if they have to restart at the bottom of the league pyramid, the glory hunters will no doubt return to their PL darlings,Man Utd,Liverpool et al.
And really what did they achieve, they had a decent run in the Europa League for a couple of seasons, but beyond that they haven't got much of a legacy for the hundreds of millions thrown at all those big name signings.
If they survive this crisis, they'll kick off in the same division as Accrington Stanley (who are they),Fleetwood(at least they'll get to visit Highbury) and Rochdale, they are ultimately no better off league wise than the late 1980's.

Im sure the financial brains at the club are prepared for our relegation, if and when it comes, and have planned accordingly.

The decline started well before Coyle took over.
He was just the final nail in their PL coffin, because they'd been in a steady decline for a number of seasons.

If Bolton & Bury go to the wall it will affect the end of next season.
Only two relegated?
Six promoted?
What will happen to Div 2 playoffs?
If it isn’t already these decisions should be sorted before a ball is kicked.

Totally agree why should the rest of the league suffer, also once the fixtures start teams will have points on the board, which they could see disappear later in the season,it's possible that could be the difference in promotion/relegation issues, and any play-off placings.Tricky Trevor wrote:If Bolton & Bury go to the wall it will affect the end of next season.

Re: Bolton
With the league now officially in place, if either or both of them don't fulfill their fixtures they will be placed at the bottom and, in effect, take one of the relegation places. So only two others would be relegated with four going up. Then, of course, they have to work it out right down the pyramid.Tricky Trevor wrote:If Bolton & Bury go to the wall it will affect the end of next season.
