Tarky on the move?
Tarky on the move?
Rumours surfacing tonight from several sources that he is Leicester bound and talks are underway.
Suppose tomorrow will tell us a bit more depending if he is playing in 1 of the games.
Going to be an interesting week I feel.

The fact Gibson has not been linked for the past three weeks means he is staying and Tarks is off

Re: Tarky on the move?
Does anyone know whether any of the Stoke Centre Backs could do a job for us if Tarks goes?l
Re: Tarky on the move?
If we get 50 million for him and don't splash the cash to get a strong young cm. well....
Re: Tarky on the move?
I really like Tarkowski, but I would definitely sell for £40m.

The problem is if he's the difference between staying up and going down it won't have been worth selling for that price.ksrclaret wrote:I really like Tarkowski, but I would definitely sell for £40m.

Think of how he got here.
If he wants to go, we can't do anything about it. Player power and all that.

Personally I’d be sad to see him go but I’d take the 50M every day of the week

Re: Tarky on the move?
If we dont buy a very good centre mid, we will need Tarks. I hope we make sure we have one through the door, before we let Tarks go.
Re: Tarky on the move?
It doesnt mean instant relegation if we sell him.FactualFrank wrote:The problem is if he's the difference between staying up and going down it won't have been worth selling for that price.
We've lost big players before and replaced them, Gibson is an option, Cahill for a season or even the young Chelsea CB has been linked.
We could bring in 2 first teamers and be stronger if we invest the money wisely.
And to be brutally honest, he hasn't been a world beater. He can be sloppy and I'd say his form post England cap hasn't been great.

It’s ok we have 2 whole weeks to find a replacement or we may have been working on it. Just hope we get this desperately needed CM in soon.

Don't forget we've got Gibson who absolutely needs to be given a chance this season.
Whether that be with Tarkowski or instead of him.

If it means we get to strengthen the squad in other areas then its a good deal . Hopefully gibson gets his chance and we get a replacement in to take his place on the bench

If theres 1 area SD has never really flopped, it's in defence. He can spot a defender a mile off.

Is it a straight swop for Maguire?
Re: Tarky on the move?
If Maguire is valued at 75 million , then Tarkowski is way undervalued at 40

Re: Tarky on the move?
Good player but I'm not that fussed it he goes. If there's one position Dyche can spot a player, it's centre back. We'll always be okay in that area. Gibson comes in and we probably get a young (ish), promising player in as backup.

If Tarks goes Heaton must stay. Both are characters and we can't afford to lose the pair of them
Re: Tarky on the move?
Maguire is only valued at 75m due to the club purchasing him.joey13 wrote:If Maguire is valued at 75 million , then Tarkowski is way undervalued at 40
Tarky has a 50m release fee, so we cant get more than that even if we wanted too.

Re: Tarky on the move?
I’m a massive Tarks fan from before he came to the club, but Burnley have to risk a sale occasionally. If we can get £50m we have to take it and reinvest a smaller amount on the next good up and coming centre back. We got caught out many years ago with selling our star players. This is what Sean Dyche has to ‘manage’. If he believes our conveyor belt of talent is up and running he has to give this possible sale some serious thought. If he’s not sure, (we know we don’t have to sell yet) he has to keep our best players a little while longer until that conveyor belt is fully functioning.
In Dyche I trust.

Do the new corner stands have any space in them to store a new large batch of dry powder?

Thought he wanted to be up north to be near his Mum. Last time I checked Leicester was in the East Midlands or is cash the prevailing factor.

I'd still sell for that price though, put Gibson in and give him his chance.

Hypothetically speaking, if we sold Tarky and replaced with either Tomori or Webster, then signed Bowen and Camarasa, would that be a good window?
I think so.

That’s good Blackrod, slate Tarks for a rumour. Are you trying to make his mind up for him?

Re: Tarky on the move?
I’m surprised at this. Given talks are apparently underway, and given he’s an England international, it’s amazing Sky Sports News haven’t got hold of this yet.
Rob Dorsett on Sky is probably the most reliable when it comes to anything Leicester.
