Slightly surprised we'd be in for another forward with what we currently have.

So that'd be Wood, Barnes, Vydra, Rodriguez and (assuming he hasnt already left) Wells on the books in the striking dept.

How many more forwards do we need?

What was Harry Kane's goal return like at 21? Don't think it was particularly special if I remember.

Aguero first season at Athletico he played 38 and scored 6 goals. Not exactly majorly good stats, he didn’t turn out so bad after that though.

A few videos of him on Youtube shows him sometimes wide-left, where McNeil plays. Certainly looks predominantly left-footed.

I'd be surprised if Wells is still a Burnley player by the end of the window,or if he is he'll likely be out on loan to a Championship club.

Vydra might be our surprise package this season,if he gets enough game time.

Wood and Barnes will start the season up top i'd have thought.

Jay hopefully in the number 10 role providing the creativity along with Dwight.

Of course Jay can play up front as well so this allows us to be more flexible,if the games not going to plan.

This has been one of our main weaknesses in recent seasons, having no plan b,well now we certainly have the options to impact games.

Northern Echo
"Leeds enter Gibson race
Leeds United have entered the race to sign Ben Gibson from Burnley.

According to the Northern Echo, the Championship club are rivalling Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Norwich and Sheffield United for his services.

Former club Middlesbrough could also attempt to hand him a return after he left for the Clarets for £15m"

Did something similar at Liverpool away last season when he came on, always looks very lively and creative around the edge of the penalty area. I really like him, needs a real chance in the side imo.

Could that explain some of the hostility towards Jay's lifestyle choice, then?

As in, you don't have the ability to make a lifestyle choice with your hair now because it's all gone, whereas Jay still has a full head and is free to do with it what he wishes.

A case of the green-eyed monster, perhaps?

Couldn’t give a rats arse what hair style any of our players have as long as they turn up on the pitch and put a good shift in. Surprised anyone is bothered. The only player who’s hairstyles annoy me is Pogba but that because it is coupled with his cocky style.

Nods, one of the wackiest transfer rumours I've seen.

I watched a bit of Stuttgart last season, after Zuber joined them on loan, and he isn't worth anything like £10m. Their whole attack was woeful last season and a big part of why they were relegated.

Svent Mislintat, one of the best talent spotters around, has recently joined Stuttgart as their Sporting Director. If he has deemed Gonzalez surplus to requirements, despite his young age and lengthy contract, that should be a big warning flag for any club.

Last week Stuttgart lost the recently arrived Sasa Kalajdzic to an unexpected ACL injury, which has thinned out their attacking options. If this opinion piece is correct, and Gonzalez is actually being touted around, the unexpected loss of Kalajdzic has obviously done nothing to alter his opinion. In such a case a club would be more likely to hold onto a good player not sell them. However, they could be more inclined to ship out a poor one to raise funds so they can bring in an unplanned addition.

I can see why Stuttgart would be interested in recovering their investment in an expensive flop ( and making a profit ), but no reason why any club would be interested in Gozalez. £10m definitely doesn't place him in the qualifying window for a speculative punt on a young player for the future ( Florian Ayre ticked that box in this window ).

Gonzalez is more like a poorly concealed booby trap than a hidden gem.

The question of work permit eligibility would also be problematic. We would probably have to jack up his wages to have a chance with that. And as others have said, we don't urgently need another attacker.

It is a journalistic fluff pieces that makes no sense. Stuttgart have already sold their best players and the only person at Stuttgart who could lay claim to being worthy of our interest is Mislintat himself.

Lol, not really.

I would have said Leroy Fer ( who has ticked every other injury on his leg bingo card ), but he consistently defies the odds.

Unexpected was probably a poor choice of words for Sasa as well, considering his previous injury record. Although it does explain his £2m price tag.
