There's no links because nothing is happening on that front. Leeds goalie to replace Heaton and swell the bank balance is looking most likely at present.Blackrod wrote:Why are there no links to central midfielders ? I know you’ve got this amateur psychology business going on at the moment Beamish, but I think you’re wide of the mark with that one.

Just don’t see how he was ever a fit for us. Went awol mid season and not a player to play central in a 4-4-2. We need competition for cork.

Newcastle apparently about to sign Saint-Maximin the lad from Nice who scored against us for 18m euros. French U21 international, one id have liked here, fast as hell and bags of potential. A real live wire unlike Lennon.

I know it was only a friendly but he’d absolutely zero interest in tracking his runners the other night. He just hung out waiting for his teammates to give him the ball.KRBFC wrote:Newcastle apparently about to sign Saint-Maximin the lad from Nice who scored against us for 18m euros. He was very direct and had pace, but lacked end product. Reminded me of the lad wolves signed from boro

No end product, wasted so many opportunities and cut inside 9/10 times. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Figure being quoted by Sky for Camarasa is just €15m ffs. I feel this is a real opportunity going amiss.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I wouldn't judge his end product from a pre season friendly, he's been more productive than Aaron Lennon in the last 2 years and looks to have potential. I think most pacey wingers struggle with consistency otherwise they're playing at the very top clubs. The French u21 kid looks way more of a threat than at least 2 of the 4 we have outwide currently and potential to improve.Danieljwaterhouse wrote:No end product, wasted so many opportunities and cut inside 9/10 times. As i said in a previous thread Dyche wont buy a player like Camarasa
Look at the history
Dean Marney ....Jack Cork ...Westwood
No frills players

Some effort by Nixon.
Knows we are after a midfielder, doesn't know who it is so says he isn't for sale yet

Law of averages says there's a good chance he'll play for Stoke or West Brom. That seems to be as far as our scouting network extends.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
He's contracted till 2022,signed an extension last summer,so he won't come that cheap, but they're having to make savings, perhaps £10m would tempt them,he's also 29 so hardly a spring chicken, but he's a steady eddie and has PL experience which is what we need,i wouldn't be unhappy with this happening, and he fits the Dyche mantra.JamesSherbourne wrote:Stoke raid again for Joe Allen

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The release clause of Camarasa is 25m and according to this link he isn't jumping with joy at the idea of joining Palace, never mind us. If Palace can't get him then we have no chance, if Palace can get him we have no chance, besides, he is foreign.SGr wrote:Figure being quoted by Sky for Camarasa is just €15m ffs. Taking Nixons titbit into account and the way we do things we are probably looking at a domestic player. Somebody like Josh Brownhill from Bristol City, although that would be a bit barmy at this stage in the window.
They sold Lloyd Kelly for 15m and brought in Jay Dasilva as a replacement left back, who is arguably just as good, for 2.5m. Then they spent the rest on some other interesting Chelsea youngsters/players including the recent arrival of Kasey Palmer.
If things pan out with Webster it will add another 20m to their coffers. That will leave them looking for a striker and a replacement for Webster. Throw another midfielder in the mix, or not, and they will have pots of cash and no real need to sell. So they could play on the fact that we need a midfielder, and might not have many options, to bleed us dry as the clock ticks down.
It would seem to fit with Nixons " money may talk in the end " post. I can't think of anyone else remotely suitable on the domestic front that would involve a chain of events or a reluctant sale and paying over the odds.
Heaton leaving won't help our cause in the final days of the window, because any potential target is obviously going to ask " if it is so good at Burnley why did your Captain and Talisman just up sticks and move to a rival ". His transfer might have inadvertently sent out the wrong message at the worst possible time.
More worryingly it could send some slight ripples through our squad " our Captain has just left the ship, because he sees a better future for himself elsewhere, so what am I still doing here ". The big problem with losing a respected leader is that others are likely to follow in due course. At the very least it will be unsettling. We saw the impact his return to the team had so his departure is likely to impart an equal and opposite reaction until people adjust to his absence.
Edit: Sorry, scrap the Brownhill guess, he is far to young.
