If his Mrs wants a move back to the North West and Wayne wants to try a bit of coaching it's possible that he might consider learning from Sean and playing alongside his mate Phil...

His wage at DC was published, it is roughly the equivalent of £55k per week if my sums are right.FactualFrank wrote:I think that's the idea.

The fact that Rooney is good mates with Bardsley puts us in a good position - I’d have him in our squad

Please no, hes past it by about 3 seasons, he's an arseho1e, and can you imagine the circus around him?
I've never quite got him or rated him when he was in his peak, even contemplating signing him way past his sell by date fills me with more dread than excitement.

$2.77m per season basic apparently , which equates to about £2.3m. Apparently various image rights deals etc. effectively double that. I dont think he's short of a few bob

Our fans would love Rooney like they loved Barton. He’d be a great signing.

Just have a look back at his career stats and goals, and all this from such a young lad starting out at everton.

NB Wouldn't be able to sign for Burnley until January window at the earliest.
Was interviewed on R5 on Saturday. Seems a really down to earth bloke who loves his football. Likes to get the gloves on and spar with his mates and was knocked out in one session by Bardsley which might explain one or two of his aberrations.

Re: Wayne Rooney to the Championship
To me, the value of Barton was other players seemed to raise their game (presumably trying to impress). Rooney might have a similar effect.
Or let’s just sign him and put him on the bench.

Don't give 2 sh1ts about United, int fact I despise them. Probably didn't help with my love for Rooney that played there.joey13 wrote:Apart from being all time top scorer for England and Man U
England were as much as a let down too in his era, I'm all for smashing San Marino etc, but regularly failing against the better sides and in tournament's ( England and Rooney) doesn't make me wet to be honest.
I know a lot will want a "legend" here, but I really don't.

Read an article which says Coleen wants to come back to UK to raise their children.
Article says he's on £300k per week at DC, it is in the MEN so is purely lazy internet journalism.

Re: Wayne Rooney to the Championship
We need devils advocate to say, what would your response be if he was signing for Sheffield United.
Most of us would be thinking
What a drain on resources
Past it
Legs gone
Premier league too fast
Circus
Been on holiday for 2 seasons
Etc
I'd be delighted if he was in any opposition team as I think he'd take away from the team more than he gave. ( must stress not commitment or effort wise )

The yellow bar on SSN is currently stating Wazza is in England ahead of his move to Derby as a player-coach. Nothing to see here.

I would prefer to watch a young rising talent like McNeil, than a so called legend giving it a few more months.

Washington Post carrying a story (picked up by the BBC) that Sean Dyche is keen to hijack the deal.
Sean probably out buying a double size omelette pan and 2 dozen eggs.

Is this the same department that organise the kit launch and sale dates?
The ones that regularly get most information wrong?
We only have 4 "O's" in stock, and you can bet your last £1 itd take them 6 months to get anymore in.
Our marketing department is shocking.
Some clubs could make it a money spinner, ours would fail miserably and look stupid whilst they were at it.
( no offence intended for anyone working in that area )

Wayne Rooney was and is an excellent footballer. He'd represent a fantastic signing for us. Sadly it won't happen but I'd have been made up if he trotted out for us this season.

If I ( and many others it seems ) had to best describe them, excellent wouldn't be the choice of words.

Fair point. Although I would feel totally opposite to that ( although I'd obviously support him )
