My guess?

One year Jones deal

Vydra leaves

Two younger players leave on loan. Deadline done.

Well at least Jones signing would prove the point many of us have been making i.e. that we need 4 specialists for cm. It would of course be an epic fail.

If Jones comes back then that is a laughable signing, we really needed to show some ambition this window, Jay Rod is good but a year late and were woefully short in midfield, get the lad in from Leeds for gods sake

Possibly for an emergency recall? What’s £2.5m with what we have stashed.

Well it kind of is your argument if you are saying that you think we should change the way we recruit our transfers. Whereas i’m saying that despite what we think as fans the manager and the board seem to have got it correct in the past...when lots of other clubs have tried variations of what some of our fans seem to be calling for now and it’s gone badly wrong for them.

With all the midfielders that Leicester have I am amazed we haven’t had a link to Matty James.

One of the good thing about being a top fifty club in the world is that you buy players that don't work out.

But hell I am sure that we bought more that didn't work out when we were in the lower leagues.

I get that we have tight budgets for the playing squad and I get that we'd rather bank £30,000,000 a year than increase those budgets. What I don't get is how a club with our resources and status still seem unable to find players good enough for our first team that want to play Premier League football for £30k a week anywhere on planet Earth. Stoke and West Brom excepted.

But surely you would have also questioned the signings of Arfield who couldn’t get a game for Huddersfield or Heaton who had just shipped a shed load of goals for Bristol City...or Jones who had been released by Blackburn or maybe Barnes who was on the bench for Brighton....etc etc

I’m not really sure of your point to be honest.
It’s fine to disagree with individual signings but it’s the overall strategy that counts - and we had a lot more signings that have worked out than those that haven’t or else we wouldn’t be where we are and at the same time consistently making great profits on many of our transfers

I'm not saying we should change the way we do our transfers as that is up to the club, I'm just sick of hearing them say the market is difficult - it's always going to be difficult if they restrict themselves to shopping in 2 divisions !!!

I would never want us to go out and sign 5 players from abroad in one transfer window, that's suicidal !!! But singing Pepe 2 years ago for 15 million was a no brainer and yet nobody did. Lots of very very good young players playing in some of the foreign leagues but also some duff ones - that's when your scouting has to be on point

I'm not coming onto this thread again! I just want to continue to be a happy Burnley supporter.

our recruitment for the most part has been more than decent, doesn't mean that's the level we all should accept (generic we, us and the club etc) - go watch the interview by Erik Pieters, he hasn't come for a relegation battle, if all our players show his determination we will have a very good season I feel
