Shows how good our back 4 was. Apart from Adams very early half chance they never troubled.

Thought when the "line ups" were announced as Redmond Ings Adam's we were in trouble for pace, but to be honest, none even had a sniff
.

Great defensive display

He was playing against Mee and Tarks, one of the best centre back pairings in the PL.

To be fair, we've done well against far better strikers.

If you look closely at the end of the game as the handshakes were being handed out I think Dyche snubbed Ings

Ings was poor and Adams drifted out of it after a decent first 30 mins though to be fair our two didnt look any better in the first half.

I tell you what I would love to have Adams in our squad instead of Vydra as I reckon he would offer some good variation and with a season under Dyche think we could have a real gem

I noticed him when the ball connected with his balls. Had a little chuckle then...

As has been alluded too, and while I don't know the details, I don't think he was the most welcome in his return to TM.

Nope I think Vydra is a bit lightweight and not quite up to Prem League standard plus I think Adams has a lot more potential to improve than Vydra

Looked like he had lost a bit to me, pace definitely less than it was.

Ings was great for us, will always get a clap from me - a shame that it seemingly didn't end on good terms for him but he certainly still has the respect of the fans.

I believe it relates to comments Ings made about the amount of responsibility Burnley had had in his development as a footballer during the tribunal.

I got there before you...at half time I thought he must have been replaced before KO...? He was listed as number 9 but I didn't realise he was on the pitch...that was until the 2nd half when I suddenly spotted him.

This is from a good source (the reason why Dyche dislikes Ings), Dyche asked Trippier and Ings in the closed season after they had left to take part in a charity event. Tripps said yes no problem, Ings said you will have to speak to my agent.

Loved him when he was with us and he was a huge factor in our rise from nowhere, but he was awful today and at (apparently) £20 million looked a total waste of cash.

Doesn’t Danny Ings still fund a charity foundation at Burnley for young people with disabilities?

If he plays in his preferred position and keeps fit,I'd put money on Ings getting 15+ goals ,loved him at the Turf and helped put us were we are now.

Don't think it was the first time his wang has got him in trouble around Burnley. Allegedly. ;)

His injuries have robbed him of his pace. He's still got great technical ability but it wasn't on show today. As the OP suggests, he barely touched the ball.

Unless he's done summat seriously out of order like knobbed his wife or insulted his family then just shake the lads hand, doesn't have to mean anything.

But you don't know anything about what's happened or what's gone on between them?

So you're blind to what's happened and therefore simply leave it between them.

Thought Ings did ok. No real chances but did a lot of closing down, looked very fit and quick and played a couple of lovely passes one of which went to a player just offside. Adams looked decent to me as well but a bit isolated at times. Think both will get a decent amount of goals this season. Their Midfield created little and our two centre backs played very well and did a good job stopping the forwards creating many good chances. Can't see how you could watch that today and would rather have Wood than either of those two he was woeful. Unless he scores he offers absolutely nothing.
