Arsenal predictions?
Almost the weekend and I’m getting excited. A win for the Clarets would see us (temporarily) go to top of the Premier League.
Terrific result last weekend and I’m really optimistic. So, let’s have your score predictions.

A draw would see us go top as well as we have a better GD than ArsenalLoveCurryPies wrote:Almost the weekend and I’m getting excited. A win for the Clarets would see us (temporarily) go to top of the Premier League.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
Think we'll do ok but will lose by a couple so 3-1 or 2-0 Arsenal

Re: Arsenal predictions?
I hope it's not so but...... think it might be the classic "one-nil to the Arsenal".
If we win, I'll be buying a bottle of decent fizz on my way home, a bottle of cheap fizz if we draw.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
The rules are we always lose at Arsenal. I have been 5 times and yet to see us even manage a draw. In fact I have only seen us score once, that was Vokes in the FA cup a few years back.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
Think I'm right in saying Arsenal are the only one of the big six we've never beaten in the PL
We need to have a good day - they need to have a bad day. The only glimmer of hope is that Mike Dean is the ref. A point would be fantastic. Good chance Barnes will be on the score-sheet.

1-1 at TM in our first season. Fletcher's 'winner' ruled out for offside on a night when the MOTD replay cameras mysteriously stopped working.Granny WeatherWax wrote:We’ve never taken a point never mind beaten.

Ah yeah, I’m on about under Dyche. We’ve taken at least a point off every side except arsenal.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
I predict that Alexis Sanchez or Laurent Koscielny won't screw us over....
I suspect a dodgy penalty again to them (which VAR should over-rule but won't), and Arsenal will win 1-0.

Agreed - we beat United in the Coyle/Laws season too but not since - although we have drawn with them four times. We've beaten all of the other four under Dyche.Granny WeatherWax wrote:Ah yeah, I’m on about under Dyche. We’ve taken at least a point off every side except arsenal.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
All depends on Aubamyang for me. If he plays well then probably 2 or 3 - 1. If we can keep him quiet then possibly 0-1 or 1-1 IMO

Re: Arsenal predictions?
Long overdue some good fortune - need to keep Aubamyang quiet as he always seems to score against us - usually escapades his markets too easily. Heart says win but would take a draw.

2-0 us. Defensive masterclass and Ashley and Chris to exploit their defensive instability Luiz / Sokratis / Chambers / the crap German etc etc

Charlie Nicholas says 4 -1 Arsenal but he would do wouldn't he.
I'm hoping Ash winds Luiz up like he usually does.

They were much more cautious than I expected at Newcastle. If we can get to half-time level, who knows.

Wasn't it 1-1 in 2009-10 season on the Turf with a good goal by us chalked off for offside that wasn't?Granny WeatherWax wrote:We’ve never taken a point never mind beaten.

Re: Arsenal predictions?
You are right - the only big six team we've never beaten in the PL era. We had a home draw once back in our first season up I believe - a midweek game if I'm not mistaken. A lot of that has been down to bad/bias refereeing and/or luck. The weird thing is in that period Arsenal have not been that good in comparison to the other big six, it's been frustrating/annoying/angering but I think now is the time. I think we will beat them this season, more likely at home, so I'm gonna go for an optimistic draw 0-0 or 1-1.EarbyClaret wrote:Think I'm right in saying Arsenal are the only one of the big six we've never beaten in the PL

Re: Arsenal predictions?
I think we'll score, the problem will be keeping their strike force quiet,2-1 to the Gooners.
Re: Arsenal predictions?
In his prediction for Sky all Charlie Nicholas can say about us is this....
Burnley had a great weekend, there is no doubt about that.
I really do hope he is yet again proved wrong.
