Re: Burnley F C in pictures
The club did do one about 8/10 years ago when they didn't get a suitable sponsorship deal negociated one season.
Just like the one in the picture with the exception of a small "Super League" logo on the right side of the club badge and only in short sleeves.
A very nice one though and the best they have released in the last 25 years or so I think.

That's what happens when you get older, no sense of time. The season without the sponsor is now 19 years ago.South West Claret. wrote:The club did do one about 8/10 years ago when they didn't get a suitable sponsorship deal negociated one season

Looking beyond Brian in the photo, is that hoarding separating the CFS terracing to the Longside?ClaretTony wrote:Never mind that, what a fanstatic player getting the shot in
Would that have been one of the last home games before the CFS terracing was demolished in 1967/68?

Superb team photos W_C_Z.
Perhaps 1967/68, 1964/65 and 1963/64 in that order.
Be quite something if we could assemble team/squad photos for every year of the Club's existence. I have some from the 1880's, 1890's and 1900's.

Andy, that stand had a life of some 61 years, from 1908 until it was used for the very last time against Sunderland in April 1969. Took a while for it to be replaced though and the Bob Lord stand was opened against Villa in Feb. 1974 and officially opened by Edward Heath against Leeds in Sept. 1974.AndyClaret wrote:First pictures ive ever seen of the old brunshaw road stand.

Re: Burnley F C in pictures
I've still got my shirt with no sponsors on it hanging in my wardrobe. Because it was so different, I never wore it very much, so it is still in good condition. I wear it from time to time for important occasions. Although I am not against shirt sponsorship, betting or otherwise, I still feel this is my favourite Burnley shirt in my collection.

Cheers again W_C_Z for the team photos.
This time 1960/61 (after Pilky had departed for Bolton) and 1962/63 (with the Wembley strip), I think.

Think it was 1-1 with a Brady own goal giving us a point.Steve1956 wrote:Didnt we win there 1-0 in that kit ,?
Remember the first away game of that '73/'74 season at Sheff Utd when we ran out in that kit. It was quite a shock to the system as we'd only been used to a white alternative shirt in previous seasons.
On the subject of kits I see we're wearing the new green third kit at Arsenal today. One of the first times we played Woolwich Arsenal away in the 1900/01 season we also wore green shirts. Just a mere 119 years ago !!
