Pope 7 maybe could have done better with the first and a couple of dodgy moments in the first half including a parry straight out it in front of him but some solid saves.
Lowton 6 poor crossing and silly pass to JBG before Arsenal 2nd goal.
Tarks 8 Maybe could have done more on the second goal but pretty hard with pace running at you like that after team mates gave the ball away. Otherwise very solid and a threat in the Arsenal box.
Mee 7 Defensively pretty good although thought he was partly at fault for the first goal but mainly Peiters. Also poor in the opposition box but did his job well.
Peiters 6 At fault for the first goal. Otherwise ok. Could do with forming more of an understanding with McNeil but hopefully that will come.
JBG 6 gave the ball away for the second goal but some good delivery into the box.
Westwood 6 ok but Outclassed by Ceballos
Cork 6 as above.
McNeil 6 Sometimes seems lost where to go when we have the ball and also out of position a few times defensively. Some good contributions including the deflected cross for the goal but not as positive in his play so far this season.
Wood 6 average at best
Barnes 7 worked hard and got his goal. Stupid brainless foul in the last minute and rightly booked. So frustrating when were breaking well and had one more chance. Almost gave -1 because of that.

JRod 5 Zero impact. Looked a yard or two off the pace.

Hard working performance.

Pope 7 handling and distribution was a bit suspect first half but settled well and some good saves second half
Lowton 6 worked hard never stopped run read the game well but crossing was poor
Tarkowski 8 solid display and a threat at our set plays glad we didn’t sell him
Mee 8 from what I see on TV has taken over from TH as the leader deserves more credit than he gets.
Pieters 6 Was to tight to Laz for first goal shame after last week, struggled with the quality of the arsenal players.
JBG 6 got in some really good positions but having to cut back to cross on left foot slows it down to much robbed for the 2nd
Westwood 7 hard working display broke down play well but bit wasteful with the ball against some real quality in the arsenal midfield did well.
Cork 6 worked hard as always but doesn’t release the ball quick enough maybe doesn’t see the pass but found myself shouting at the TV more that once with McNeil free.
McNeil 6 couple of good runs and neat touches he got in some good positions but we are to slow to give it him. His final ball was poor today lucky deflection for the assist. Will grow into the season
Barnes 8 nearly a 7 for stupidity at the end but let him off as he was kicked and pushed all game. He was a handful all game took the goal well
Wood 5 don’t know what’s happened to him touch is terrible and seems totally off the pace.

Rodriguez 5 needs more games and time to build up a connection with strike partners and the way we play few times was slow to react to balls as not expecting them love the ambitious overhead kick.
Lennon provided a spark when he came on a set up a few attacks in the short time on the pitch looked like he had a point to prove

Not a bad performance at all but games like this show our lack of quality - said it before so will say again £10 million for Jay= not good business at all and still does not make sense.

JBG 6

Don’t understand how anyone can say Lennon did not have an impact when he came on.
It’s almost like the rating and comments are written by some people before he plays !

Can kind of understand the lowish marks for JayRod but some of the comments are a bit harsh.

Second half very different from the first. Little decent service into the front two and we were rarely able to relive the pressure at the back. He replaced Wood who just wasn't in the game at all - so an incredibly difficult stage to be introduced.

Would be very wary of making any judgement based on that. Our overall play, in our first two games. suggests he's a good fit and is definitely and upgrade as far as the squad/bench options are concerned.

Was fine when he came on but wasn’t on long enough for a rating.

Hard to mark anyone below a 6. The work rate was immense and for 65 mins we were very much in that game, first half in particular I thought we went about our jobs brilliantly. After they went in front again the game got away from us as they controlled it pretty well (hence why jay hardly had any ball whatsoever - they dropped midfielders deeper, swarmed around our front two and picked up the second ball.
Frustrating things were our delivery into the box especially from the right was really poor when we could have threatened and the goals conceded were naive and a little sloppy (certainly not blatant mistakes though).

Lennon skipping past his man near the end and getting to the by line was the only real attacking spark we showed all second half. Seems like some folk have made up their minds about him and aren't going to give him a chance.

I was just going to say - Lennon had "no impact" - apart from accelerating past the Arsenal defence and bursting into the penalty area.....

3s and 4s for Lennon are absolutely hilarious! With that run at the end, he did more going forward than McNeil did in the whole game! I thought there were glimpses of Lennon of old in that cameo. That’s what we want to see more of.

Lennon did well when he came on.
Disappointed with the result. Not too disappointed with how we played, overall.
Lacked quality threatening their goal most of the time, but we certainly deserved to go in level.
We were loose conceding both. Individual errors.
Arsenal knew they'd been in a game though.

I wonder if the poster who scored Tarkowski a 6 after that would care to justify.
Not flawless today for Tarks but a very good performance against an Arsenal attack that continually asked questions.
Possibly MotM.

Fullbacks and central midfield our weak areas, McNeil hasn’t started the season like he ended the last, worrying signs the magic may have been sucked out of him. Thought Wood was ineffective but we looked a million times better with him on the field so maybe he wasn’t that ineffective. Lennon had a bright cameo, Rodriguez was dire, with Drinkwater in midfield and Taylor back at full back we should become a better side.

Lennon did some great stuff when he came on, got to the byline and put in a fantastic ball!

Also, defensively he was great... Gave Monreal no time on the ball, pressed him intensely.

Lennon is the only bit of pace we have in the squad really. At times when we attack it's like we're playing in slow motion. And from what I've seen of Pieters Taylor is a far better full back and after the season he had last year deserves to get his place back.

Just haven’t seen the same McNeil this season yet, it’s very much possible Dyche has sucked the flair out of him.

We’ve played 2 games. He was a threat first half and showed some great touches 2nd half last week. You just can’t wait can you maybe you need to invest in a bigger TV.

Absolutely ridiculous to think McNeil has had the flair sucked out of him and does our manager a disservice. It also does our opponents a disservice. Do people honestly not think the opposition have done their homework on McNeil, put him on his right foot, double up on him, don’t take him lightly.

This was always going to be a harder season for him. He’s now a known talent and it’s known he’s one of not our best attacking threat.

I would say it is more down to Pieters being behind him instead of Taylor. Just think him and Taylor know each others game so well where as him and Pieters havent built up that understanding yet. Once Taylor is back in next week McNeil will step up another notch.

This was always going to be a harder season for him. He’s now a known talent and it’s known he’s one of not our best attacking threat.
Not ridiculous in his tiny brain as it allows him to carry on his weird crusade against Dyche.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume Taylor will be back in soon. We all know how slow Dyche is to make changes.

Pope 8 made 2 very good stops, certainly kept us in it
Lowton 5 not good going either way, several poor decisions
Tarkowski 7 solid
Mee 7 solid
Pieters 5 offered zero going forward, a few tmes poor positioning, Taylor will be back before long
Cork 6 average, our CM dont/cant take on a man, cross or shoot, ratters who's job to close down and pass 10 yards. Need more quality on the ball
Westwood 5 as above but a little worse
McNeil 6 a few peices of skill, but more times took the wrong option/,rushed. Down to experience
Wood 6 better than Jay
Barnes 7 better of the front 3
JBG 5 2nd goal was his doing, but also created very little. Very lightweight v the top 20 clubs it seems

How DD cant get on the bench or fit enough for the last 20 mins is worrying.
Cork and Westwood are very similar, and neither offer any creativity at all. We need to retain the ball better their, and neither do well. 1 looks like running through trwsxle and lost for ideas when in the last 3rd or given time

Would have happily taken a 2-1 pre match if offered, but really did feel the game was there for a result other than a few errors and wrong decisions.

Think we will see our best 11 players playing come sept, and will give us a better chance in games like today

You’re a few sandwiches short of a picnic aren’t you ?
Seriously there has got to be something wrong with you to make the comments you do.

Pope 5 Some decent saves but at fault for first goal ans awful distridution
Lowton 6
Tarks 8
Mee 8
Pieters 6
JBG 4 caught in possession for winning goal
Cork 7
Westwood 6
Mcneill 5
Wood 6
Barnes 7
JRod 3 offered us nothing today
Lennon 5 Better than JGB

A game we could have got at least a point from barring 2 bad errors that lead to goals. But plenty of encouragement in first half when we were the better team

Pope - 8 - kept us in it with some pretty impressive saves

Lowton - 6 - ok but turned it over a # of times
Tarks -7
Mee -7
Pieters -6 - reliable backup but Taylor must start soon.

JBG - 5 - some reasonable crosses but wanted way too much time for the 2nd goal
Westwood - 6
Cork -6
McNeil-5 has to do way better with that header at the far post.

Wood - 5
Barnes - 6

Lennon-7 - the spark of the 2nd half even if it was late.
Rodriguez- 4

A tale of 2 halves. 1st half was really pleasing how we matched them and went in deservedly level. 2nd half was flat and they were better. It’s disappointing because it felt like we could and perhaps should have had a point. Away to Arsenal that’s not a bad problem to have.3 points from the first 2 games is ok.

Can't wait for hibs to explain how Pieters was amazing and Taylor would definitely have done worse

And it’s very much you talking out of your arse. Dwight was a bit off it today but he was trying to do things.

McNeil must have defied Dyche a lot today then.
Tried running at people and taking them on, didn’t always come off but it’d be weird if people didn’t see it.
