If anybody can be bothered, to give an export on his recent injuries when he's gone off. I'll place a fiver on 8 weeks minimum.

I suspect Jeff will slot in on the right hand side now if he's out for any period of time.

Which would be a wise decision anyway against Liverpool.

He'll be fine eventually I think. He's just suffering the usual niggles that anyone does when returning from a cruciate injury*. It's always a good couple of years till we see the best of them again. When he's fit he's one of our most dangerous players.

*This one with the ribs isn't even a niggle from the cruciate, it's just bad luck.

Is he checking in to the Defour suite? Room for 1 on the Brady wing?

I'd like to see Lennon given a go there. We are still desperately short of pace, at times when we attack it's like we're playing in slow motion.

For the Liverpool game would have preferred Hendrick over Gudmundsson in that role so guess that's how it will likely turn out. Personally I'd say starting with Lennon and McNeil would be too adventurous when primarily we have to think about containing them as an attacking threat. Jeff's defensive qualities get the nod.

Never been a Gumundson fan, he is far to slow for this level, he is championship at best..

Hendrick is a far better proposition for the Liverpool game, he at least won't give the ball away in crucial positions

Cork and Westwood don't play wide midfield, so no comparison.

Gumundson lacks the pace to play out wide. Like I say he is a championship player

Is only attributes are that he is decent at set pieces

You can't be serious Falcon. JBG lacks the pace to make an impact at this level. JBGs strengths are that he is good at set pieces and he has the self discipline to play to our system. Something that Brady lacks at times

Taken from SD's interview on BFC's website... regarding tomorrow night....

Winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson is not under consideration after under-going a scan to assess a calf problem picked up in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Wolves.

The Clarets don’t believe it’s a serious issue but have taken the precaution of a further look following a similar problem last season for the Icelandic international who has an ‘outside chance’ of being back for Saturday’s visit of Liverpool.

JBG travels well will the ball and stand up defenders, he poses a threat from out wide with his left foot and tracks back for the side....a valuable member of our squad.

Since the start of 2016-17, Johann Berg Gudmundsson has been directly involved in 23 Premier League goals for Burnley. That's a record bettered only by Barnes in that period.

Some contribution that, still, you know best.

He might not be the quickest but he isn’t slow. He is one of only two players in our squad who can take the ball up to a defender and beat them. His left peg crosses are top class shame his right isn’t as productive.
A far better player than you are seeing.

Great point. I mean his goal against Southampton wasn’t through hard work, a bit of strength, skill and a great finish was it

JBG is a top player. Easily good enough for this level.

It's amazing how many of our players aren't considered PL quality by the experts on here, and yet we're now in a 4th straight season at the top table.

Not bad for a bunch of Championship signings.

another bargain buy, done well for us for the most part. Would be good if we tried supporting our players more I reckon especially when there is pretty much no other option in his position

When we did fantastically well in our promotion winning championship season, much was made of how we were able to pick a first eleven consecutively because we suffered few injuries, this was put down to how well the fitness coaches were looking after the team. Was that a load of b0ll0cks and pure luck or have we changed the fitness coaches since then?
