All done and dusted and up to the player - good news on Brady & McNeil although I would think Brady will have to wait a while to get a start with Dwight now in front of him.

A much more sensible and mature approach to dealing with the matter rather than just saying send him back

A very mature approach.
History suggests to me that the fitness update means that we will be without Drinkwater, JBG, McNeil and Brady.
Cue uproar on a shocking transfer window

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche speaks on Drinkwater
Sensible approach from a sensible manager.
We all make mistakes. And Drinkwater has made a few. This particular one may not have even been his fault but ultimately he put himself in that situation. As a professional footballer you cant afford to do that.
I am sure if there is any manager who can A) Help get him on the right road and B) be mature enough to realise that people **** up but deserve a chance. Then its Sean dyche.
Hopefully he comes back fit and hungry and we have a top player on our hands. Now and beyond January. And hopefuly we can laugh at the kneejerk reactions when he becomes a critical player for us.

Another frustrating injury for JBG. Seems to regularly pick up niggles that keep him out for a few weeks. We're lucky that Cork & Westwood are a lot more durable in that respect

We can be fairly confident that the six (if it was 6) so-called thugs didn't report it.
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche speaks on Drinkwater
If we're saying 2 weeks out the reality is probably 6-8 weeks. Then once he's caught up, he might be Dyche fit by December. All the while picking up about 50 grand a week from us.

Not claiming to know the details of the incident he was involved in, but when loyal supporters , many of whom are on low incomes, pay and travel to watch their team, you'd at least expect a bit of decency and application from someone on thousands of pounds a week .
Burnley fans want 100 % commitment from the team, really poor showing if they disregard the paying public by not giving a toss.

This is it.
We are spending £50k a week on a player who may yet prove to be absolutely no use to us.

Clarke Carlisle had a drink problem and a drink drive conviction, before becoming a claret. Often afforded legend status and has slipped again since.
Keith Treacey speaks very highly of Dyche support he received.
What if with Dyche back DD turns things around? Feels debted to us after little support from Sari last year?
All what ifs I know. But come on 50k a week or not.
And if he does have drink issues. Criticism will hinder he recovery.

SOME of our fans can't accept any criticism whatsoever of BFC, it's holdings or directors, assets or staff, then have the indecency to mock those who find such behaviour troubling.

Strange signing to begin with and obviously a panic buy and each week it looks even worse than back in August when it was announced - more cash thrown away

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche speaks on Drinkwater
Whatever this is, it isn’t a ‘Happy Clapper’ thing. That is to do with supporting, by positive strokes and appreciating the positives and not dwelling for too long on the negatives when they crop up because we are trending in the right direction.
This is more about people who want to make known their feelings on the principles and ethics and their own core values and all those things that are related. Reminds me of James Mason and his role in the film, Spring and Port Wine. He was the strong domineering patriarch, unbending and unyielding. Choose your side, SD is not playing that role and after due consideration, I am lining up behind him. Club critics are still free to choose either side, it will not make them a Happy Clapper if they agree with SD on this one.

I said when this went public that SD was the man to make the right decision. His explanation today was sound. It will have elevated the perception of BFC to any professional footballer out there who has monitored this situation.
A lot of Cloughie has rubbed off on Sean . Remember the fan he punched when he ran on the pitch during a Forest game. Back page of the tabloids two days later was Cloughie giving the same fan a peck on the cheek. You can't put that in any MANAGEMENT TRAINING manual. Ask Joey Barton what he thinks of our manager

A dick move but having a asshole in the team can be a good thing if he shows it on the pitch. Ask Joey Barton, Roy Keane etc. Here's hoping he turns it around.
Mr Dyche needs to spend a night out with him and Joey. A quiet curry and a few beers might do the trick. For Danny, the non-alcoholic variety.

What a load of b*ll*cks. £50k per week is what gets you a 2nd line standard of player - even the full £100k per week does not often get you a difference maker of a midfielder. What £50k a week gets you in the Premier League is a good player or a very good player who needs to reinvent their career following injuries (e.g. Steven Defour) or who needs to get back to proving themselves week, in week out(e.g. Danny Drinkwater).Nonayforever wrote:Apparently we are supporting him to the tune of 50 grand per week to get ******.

All players are bought for their footballing abilities not for there degree of sainthood. He is just an ordinary bloke who was blessed with talents that get people to play him loads of dosh and therefore will do, to an extent, the same things any 20 odd year old would do.

Is “our Ashley” an injury doubt for this week.

If it was Phillips, and it’s a good guess that it was, the chairman said that his club weren’t prepared to sell him which is not falling short. We weren’t the only Premier League club trying to sign him and we all got our answer this week when he signed a new five year contract at Leeds.BOYSIE31 wrote:We needed a permanent player this summer for that position and I know we tried to get Phillips which would have been a great signing but we fell way short again - be lucky if Drinkwater even starts a game for us
