Looks promising. Hopefully he can lead by example in some run chases and get us scoring quicker early doors

a Lincolnshire Premier League batting record having plundered 1507 runs at an average of 107 for Sleaford in 2016.
If he gets anywhere near this it will be a very good season for t'house

I see Matt Walker is leaving Read.

Is he coming back to Lowerhouse?

He's the best player out of all the youth academy has produced down there isn't he?

He might fancy staying in a less challenging environment like Padiham maybe where he can be the big fish in a small pond

He'd be very welcome at Padiham but I suspect he will join a bigger club or get paid for his services.

Are Lowerhouse favourites for next year's league now?

Burnley have lost McCluskie haven't they and are trying to replace him with Liam Grimshaw from Accy. Accy were fighting hard to keep him though.

A lot will depend on who clubs recruit.

I expect Josh Gale back at Walsden and Burnley will probably pick a couple up.

Smit in at Rammy but they are losing Tom Parton who won’t be easy to replace.

Norden and Darwen will also have something to say.

They have signed Harry Caton from East Lancs.

Always looked very good at Feniscowles but I don't know if I gave him extra credit for thinking he was about 10 when he was a lot older.

I believe he’s a very good stumper but Parton has big runs in him also.

Don’t know enough about Caton to comment on whether he can fill that void also.

There are some very big grounds in the ECB Lincolnshire Premier League and Sleaford is one and Grantham and Lindum two more. These 3 are I would say are bigger than Ramsbottom .

He sounds just what we need. A big hitting..quick scoring type. Good record in league cricket in this country and helped both Netherfield and Sleaford to win their respective leagues. However..we all know the Lancashire League is one of the most competitive leagues in the country. I think we are another batsman short too to be honest.

I have to disagree with you there Fishy. We finished 3rd in a highly competitive league. Could have been 2nd or 1st results depending on the last day. Heavily rain affected season. The biggest factor is non of our amateurs scored over 500 (due to a number of factors). One or two of them coming off next season with a strong scoring pro is a great recipe. Our bowling is top notch.

Watch this space. Biased as chuff, but watch this space.

Pienaar sounds like an excellent and imaginative signing and shows real intent from The Ouse to be right up there again next year and hopefully nick the title this time.
On another note Harry Caton from East Lancs is a good prospect, but is still very young and Rammy may be asking/expecting rather a lot.

I do agree..it was noticeable that with the bat we were not as high scoring as we have been in other seasons. We always seemed to struggle when chasing in my opinion as technically they are good but never seem to score quick enough. Ocky is difficult to get out and often glued innings together but you can't say he scores at a particularly decent rate...it has been mentioned a lot on here. This guy (whilst only going off his stats and what we have been told) seems to be a bit more aggressive and will change things up a little. I agree our bowling is top notch and we have defended some low totals with our bowling and have a good mix. To get so close despite these issues shows that we are competitive.
Excited to see what next season will bring.

If that young lad Jack Wynn steps up and continues like he did against us on the last day they will be a threat. An outstanding bowling performance from such a young lad.

Is that Liam Grimshaw, the Burnley fan, who plays full back for Motherwell?
I've heard he has a brother called Kieren who plays cricket for Accy.

Is that the Pick a Pro a Week Burnley we are talking about. A well respected ex Burnley C.C player was heard to say he thought BCC would have been lucky to finish half way if they had not paid big money for the services of Smit who won them games on his own.

I said at the start of the season it was unfair but the house lads on here said it was hard work to get sub pro's every week and a hindrance.

It certainly helped Lowerhouse win the cup having Cosgrove in.

It's certainly better for the league, the better cricketers you can attract.
