October's fixtures.
In the season of "mellow fruitfulness", how many points can we hope to harvest ?
Some interesting fixtures for sure.
v Everton (h)
v Leicester (a)
v Chelsea (h)
Not easy but a very good test of where we stand.

Re: October's fixtures.
4 points would be a decent return. Anything above that would be brilliant.

Re: October's fixtures.
I'm thinking a draw and win at home with probable defeat to Leicester. I'd take that.
A third of the way to survival by the end of October.
The November fixtures aren't horrific.

A point would be great in all honesty.

I think we can give Everton a real game.

I would be thrilled with 4 points. I'm thinking we'll get 1-3, as this we're due for a bit of a slump, and can't see us getting more than 1 off the last two fixtures.

Of course we can, if we start like we did against Nowrich.jdrobbo wrote:I think we can give Everton a real game.
Everton's away record isn't very good, but they create bucket loads of chances. 8 shots on target yesterday against City which is the most they have faced since Pep came in.

Re: October's fixtures.
We only got one point from those fixtures last season so anything more will be a bonus. Think we can nick 4 or even 5 points

Re: October's fixtures.
I don’t expect shipping another 5 to Everton and they are below par so far. Possible win. Leicester away very awkward and they are playing well. Would be delighted with a draw. Probable loss. Chelsea at home is a nightmare. We play better against them away. They are having a poor start though but our record at home to them suggests another loss. Happy with 3 from 3. Anything more would be seriously good.

If we get 5 points or more out of these 3 games then we are playing European football again next year.Hibsclaret wrote:We only got one point from those fixtures last season so anything more will be a bonus. Think we can nick 4 or even 5 points
Happy days.
Re: October's fixtures.
We’re fortunate to be playing Chelsea before they sack Lampard. Hopefully they’ll have an off day and we can capitalise on that.
Re: October's fixtures.
I am very unnerved at the current logjam in the table. Still only 4 points above the drop zone, no 3-game run will make me certain of anything.Quickenthetempo wrote:If we get 5 points or more out of these 3 games then we are playing European football again next year.

That said, the same holds true for an attack at a European spot. Seems to be a lot of vulnerability after the top 2.

Re: October's fixtures.
Funnily enough 3 wins or 3 losses are probs reasonably possible . Everton do create , but confidence wise they’re very wobbly . Leicester away will be the real test , a fast quality side , Chelsea is a free hit . I’d be happy with 4 points

We are going to be waiting a few years before he gets sacked.Foulthrow wrote:We’re fortunate to be playing Chelsea before they sack Lampard. Hopefully they’ll have an off day and we can capitalise on that.
Re: October's fixtures.
I'm really not sure what to make of us this season yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see us comfortable in mid-table, but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised to see us sucked into the relegation battle. The next 3 will tell us a lot I think.

I think our attitude, hard work and resilience will see us hit forty points around March. Although a body or two in January would be nice.jrgbfc wrote:I'm really not sure what to make of us this season yet. Re: October's fixtures.
Like others, I’d be happy with 4 or more. Anything less than 3 is a little disappointing, but not the end of the world.
Re: October's fixtures.
I'd like to think if we have a decent points total by January we'll take the FA cup a bit more seriously. Not holding my breath though.cricketfieldclarets wrote:I think our attitude, hard work and resilience will see us hit forty points around March. Although a body or two in January would be nice.

had we drawn all 3 of those fixtures we would all be happy, 3 points is ok from those games imho
