Jay Rod
I've only seen the highlights but what a good header and the run to take both centre halves away from Wood to let him score was sublime.
A big plus yesterday.
A big plus yesterday.
Re: Jay Rod
Was a brilliant header. I didn't think he was overly involved when he came on, but what he did he did well.
He also put a shift in going the other way too by tracking Targett, who seemed to have the freedom of the left flank at times during the first half.
I'd start him there against Everton.

Re: Jay Rod
It was a good performance, and a great goal, but his tackle on Grealish was awful. Not trying to criticize JRod but he needs to learn to tackle better than that if he is to help out in midfield.
I hope he starts getting more minutes, we need him hungry, if only to keep Barnes and Wood on their toes.

It looked like he slipped and both feet gave way to me.Colburn_Claret wrote:It was a good performance, and a great goal, but his tackle on Grealish was awful. Not trying to criticize JRod but he needs to learn to tackle better than that if he is to help out in midfield.

Dyche doesn't encourage tackling, more blocking. Which is what I think he meant to do.

Re: Jay Rod
He CAN put in some very naughty tackles at times tbh. I remember in his first spell he tackled (battered) somebody right in front of the JH stand after only about 90 seconds of a game and most people immediately agreed it was a clear red which he actually got away with.

Re: Jay Rod
I wouldn’t dream of starting with anything other than 442.
The 433 is a working progress. 442 is our tried and tested, especially at home.

Re: Jay Rod
Thought it was a good header live but looks even better seeing it on tv.

Re: Jay Rod
When we signed him I said he would be our top scorer. However Wood and Barnes have started every game and bar loss of form from these two or injuries his chances may be restricted. He may not get many opportunities but you saw yesterday how good he is aerially. He will also score some spectacular goals with both feet. Great to have a game changer on the bench

Re: Jay Rod
It might be just my mind playing tricks on me, but isn't Sean Dyche making changes sooner?
