Points From Next Four Games?

Post by ElectroClaret » Mon Oct 14, 2019 7:59 am

There's yet another international break coming :? this time on 16th November.

So four games to play between now and then.
Leicester away......Think this might be the most difficult of the four...0
Chelsea home.......Rather fancy us to squeeze a point out of this.......1
Sheff Utd away......Another win for the mighty Clarets, I reckon..........3
West Ham home....Hard to call this one, I'll go another draw here......1

A win and two draws would be ok I feel. Less than five points disappointing.

Or do you reckon we'll get more?

could very easily end up with none, and a very different look to the league table.

I think if we come out of it with more than six then relegation is not going to be an issue this season.

Also we could end up with 7 or 8 points and be pushing the top 4.

Three or four points from that lot will be far from disastrous. Always a danger of expectations getting carried away.

We could end up with more, we could end up with less. Three of those games are against teams likely to finish in the top 8 this season.

I think we'll turn Chelsea over.
Maybe scrape a point at Leicester.
Draw at Sheff U
Win v West Ham

Would take 4 points if offered now, the 2 away games will be really tricky, and who knows which Chelsea and West Ham will turn up.

4 points will see us continue to tick over quite nicely.

Chelsea at Turf Moor on a freezing, wet October night, in front of millions the world over...the script has already been penned...

I'll be very, very fed up if we lose to Sheff U and I can see us getting another couple of points elsewhere, so maybe 3 and hopefully 5 and probably somewhere in between!! :)

Either 7 or none but that's football for you.

I'd hope we can get 5 or 6 points from these though it's a slightly tougher than average fixture list on current form.

2 home,2 away; average current league position of opponents is 7.5/20 so even 4 pts from 4 games would be very decent.

Four hard to call games. Leicester shockingly hard as they are playing at the moment. Chelsea I would have more faith in if it was away (have we ever had a PL point off them at home?). Sheffield easiest on paper but we aren't too good at picking up wins away. West Ham I bloody hope we murder 'em but they are playing well this season so far. Reasonably happy with 4 from these but I expect more (hopefully 6). Anything more than 6 and we're in dreamland (and possibly in the top 4). I'm going to our Sheffield office tomorrow where there are a fair scattering of blades (and Owls to be fair) and the boss said they may get a box for it so it might be luxury time for me (or not). Here's hoping.

Didn't Robbie Brady's freekick goal on his debut get us a point?

Sorry my mistake. When did we score a screamer to take the lead and lose 3-1 at home? Was it the first time we were back in the PL?

First game back under Dyche? I think Arfield scored the goal.

The home game with Chelsea in the Coyle/Laws season was a 1-2 defeat, Stephen Fletcher scored, in January.

Absolutely - I had a feeling it was Arfield. Cheers for the memory jog.

Think the last time we beat Chelsea at home was the old second division 1982 season
