Is there a stand at Turf Moor that you haven't been in?

Post by fidelcastro » Sat Oct 26, 2019 12:27 am

I've watched a game in every part of Turf Moor, but then I have been going for a lot of years! :D

I was surprised though, to learn that there are fans, even older than me, that have never been in certain parts of the ground.

If you haven't been in a certain stand... put it on your bucket list! :D

Never been in Jimmy Mac. Bee hole end many times but never since the stand was built. Watched from everywhere else including the home and visitors directors box

No. Been in them all from them being terracing (CF stand, Longside, Beehole and Brunshaw Road Enclosure) or seating (CF stand, JH Upper and Lower, JM Upper and Lower and Brunshaw Road stand).

I have never watched a game from that side of the pitch.

When we had a reserve team that played on the Turf, the BL Stand was the only stand open.

There were fun nights :D

And Saturday afternoons. At one time that was the only way you could find out how the 1st was doing when they were playing away.

Directors box. I try every home match. I get through reception, then always get found out. Nevermind, back the CFS.

Yep all 8.
Was great in the late 50's at Saturday reserve games when they would announce the latest score from where the first team were playing.
Not so great in the mid 80's when you had to shout to talk to the fan nearest to you. :( :(
I suppose it is 9 not 8 since the Longside was uncovered when I first stood in the Turf.

I’ve never sat in the Jimmy Mac upper and have only sat in the two lower tiers once each. I’ve no desire to tick off the other stand though. I like my own seat.

I never went in the old Longside but I’ve been in every other stand.

I'm a 'Old Longsider', then transferred to JH. Seen one match in JMc and one in Bob Lord. Never been in Cricket Field.

I was forgetting those, Milord, but then again they are reserved for disabled fans and therefore shouldn't count.
As of course you well know. ;)

They also accommodate the disabled fan’s helpers.

And no doubt stewards and other club staff - but not the general public.
As of course you understand. :D

Are disabled people, and their helpers not members of the general public?

Indeed they are, Milord, but in this instance they form a separate group housed in stands restricted to their own use.

As of course is bleedin' obvious. ;)

I’ve had at some point or other season tickets in every stand (inc. Longside and Bee Hole)except the Jimmy Mc upper. I think the only time I went in there the lights went out against Walsall.

All things considered the best stand by far is the Bob Lord! :D

Never been in JMU and never made it to the old Brunshaw Rd stand upper.
Done all the rest many times. BL & new CFS mainly for reserve and youth games.
