Lys Mousset has three assists in this game. He’s a younger, quicker striker who was signed because they had a position that they felt could be improved, and so they did.

Makes you think.

This has been on the cards for some time. Needs to get Pueters and j rod off. Replace with Taylor Brady but it looks like Bardsley will be coming on. Gonna be a long season. Once again our lack of quality signings is killing us

The writing has been on the wall. After a reasonably promising start to the season, including some brighter football, we've slowly been sinking to the first half of last season's levels. The two full backs aren't good enough, we're not strong enough in CM (still), and without Wood we lose our goal threat. Major changes needed and some spending required in January if we're to avoid a very long and hard season. Would be nice to see us string three passes together once in a while too.

Lowton should never have started this match, nor Pieters, but there is far more to it than just those two individuals. We have been woeful everywhere.

Not even remotely good enough. No doubt people will come on later and remind us that 32 years ago was the Orient game so anything above that is acceptable

It's a pity we can only have 3 subs.

Pope and the entire defence have been shite.

Threw the game away with that disgusting 3rd goal but hats off to Wilder and Sheff Utd. They have played some brilliant football and fully deserved a 2 goal lead.

2 down a goal can change everything but think that 3rd has gifted them the game completely

I really don't understand how Dyche can stand there and watch us get over in time and time again by the formation they play, and not change it.

Also we are completely overrun in centre mid pretty much like we were for the most part last week. Why move on infom Hendrick out of centre mid to make way for Cork?
Hendrick is twice the player of Cork in that position currently, and he's a box to box midfielder we desperately need

Not watching but they flood the midfield. He should have gone JRod up top alone, moved McNeil in one and played Brady left.
It does sound like both FBs are playing their last game for a while.

Commentator " Sean Dyche will be peeling the paint in the dressing room"

I doubt it, as I said before we should have known what was coming. We have seen enough of them in the league this season to get a good grasp of what they are about and how they play. Their game plan was easy to predict and we did nothing to counter it. We set up as normal and we are getting exactly what we deserve.

Poor tactics = poor result.

It was always going to be a tough match. Sheffield are the new us with a more effective formation. Our players have been let down by our tactical naivety and their job has been made even tougher than it should have been.

You can count on 1 hand games we have deserved to win.
Getting out if jail v Brighton and Villa masked similarly shocking displays.

We are a reactive side, who doesnt change anything week to week no matter who the opposition are.

Worst display since West Brom away, and scarily mirroring last season's pre-xmas disasters.

They're quicker to every loose ball, and Dean Henderson won''t have an easier 45 minutes the whole season.

Definitely second best.

Not the usual energetic side we'd expect.

Still makes me laugh some of the weaker minded on here throwing out as though we should be fantastic. We have a small budget. SD has worked miracles and is still doing so. We're entitled to the odd disaster.

We've given them the 3rd. The ref has unquestionably favoured them. VAR hasn't helped. They've only had 3 shots on target...all 3 hit the back of the net. Possession and shooting points out that it shouldn't be a landslide.

Ah well.

At the game and I'm totally xxxx off with this performance . Just read the posts on here and l agree with long time lurker . Our midfield keeps getting over run and maybe we should of gone 4-5-1 to prevent this . Ps - its wet and horrible .

From a amateur Full back which is what I was at best, Lawton completely schoolboyed for the 2nd I got that $hit taught out of me when I was 6 years old ffs..... then Eric missing the clearance from the other full back position. Both full backs should be dropped both have been terrible.

PB is not the future but needs to be in above lowton right now and Taylor has to be sat on the bench thinking WTF am I that bad I can’t displace Eric....

Big 2nd half here we can win 4-3 positive energy UTC

I knew it’d be bad today. I was expecting a draw or a 1-0 defeat. Because I knew for whatever reason he’d persist with Pieters, Wood wouldn’t be fit, and we’d ultimately try and play exactly the same way that saw us 4-0 down at home last Saturday.

But I didn’t think it’d be this bad. Not by a mile.

This is what you can do when you get the ball down and play it, play football, you score 3 at home before HT.
Instead we play hoofball and look absolutely hopeless.
SD won’t change it, it’ll be the same 11 next Saturday.
No pace, no creativity, no flair, no chance.

Our lack of a subsustitute midfielder is a big problem.

Jay and McNeill off.

Bardsley on, Lowton moved up the pitch. Taylor replaces McNeill and Hendrick moves into centre attacking midfield.

We will battle to the end, but get anything from this game is a mountainous task.

Your dreaming if you think this will rattle Dyche and make him change things. It took half a season of crap last year and a stuffing off Everton.
