Burnley fan v Burnley fan
Some right dick heads on today front row having a go at an elderly couple . And in the second half at a 25/26 young man but he stood up to em well done we have some great supporters but we have some real pricks who think they can intimidate everyone around them . The elderly couple were probably supporting our great club before they they were born .

Newbies with tickets.... Happened at Huddersfield last season. Safety in numbers and proper b ell ends....probably slagged the team throughout to.HOPE AND GLORY wrote:Some right dick heads on today front row having a go at an elderly couple . This sounds like a case of not knowing the whole story.HOPE AND GLORY wrote:Some right dick heads on today front row having a go at an elderly couple . What did the elderly couple do that could have possibly annoyed them?
Re: Burnley fan v Burnley fan
I go to very few away games these days due to work but also due to some of the supporters whose interpretation of supporting Burnley is different to mine.

A friend of mine who is in his 70’s who went home and away was severely abused by some Burnley fans last year and no longer feels safe enough to go away.
We have some really bad fans.

But why them? Wasn't it a random crowd, or were they the only people above 70 in the away stand. I don't get it.Lowbankclaret wrote:Yep they turned up and the knuckle dragging idiots picked on them.

Now this is me, and I know the majority don't have the same number of braincells, but I'd have taken a photo/video of the people giving the abuse. So feel free to post away...

Tend to get them at the more "reachable" grounds like today. 3 lads could barely walk when they stumbled out of the pub at 2.15, really don't get it myself

I got told off at Fullham last year by some aggressive dude for applauding the players effort after the game. Doesn't surprise me. Amazing that someone can get annoyed with their own fans, we are all in it together.

Not the usual standing up/ sitting down **** you get at most away games then?

I was three rows back from the old couple and though I couldn't hear what was said (yes, I'm guessing), the gist of the situation appears that the old couple had the temerity to want to watch the match seated.
Two blokes appeared to be giving them grief because of this.
My take on this but like I said, guessing.

Around us everyone was just annoyed, then gallows humour took over.
I think everyone was stunned by just how bad we were first half to be honest.

That’s why I don’t go to away matches. Until we have some dedicated standing areas for those who want to stand and seats for those who can’t stand up for long periods this will continue. Is it a sign of virility to stand where there are seats , or is it that no one has the courage to say SIT DOWN . Perhaps someone will explain.Juan Tanamera wrote:I was three rows back from the old couple and though I couldn't hear what was said (yes, I'm guessing), the gist of the situation appears that the old couple had the temerity to want to watch the match seated.

Re: Burnley fan v Burnley fan
Had a good view of this. The elderly couple asked the presumably lad and dad to sit down. They were unable to do so as they were stood in an aisle away from their seats. It was pointed out to them that if the people next to them shuffled over they would be able to stand in front of their allocated seat which would also allow the elderly couple to see the game.
The ‘lad’ then got aggressive to the person who pointed this out to him and then spent the rest of the game attacking fellow fans in the vicinity. He took a particular dislike to someone’s nose ring and spent most of the second half abusing fellow fans for not getting behind the team. This culminated in his mate inexplicably threatening to drill the person behind him.
Embarrassing behaviour which made a bad day even worse.

But still we have clowns on the front row insistent on standing and away stewards who let them

I haven’t been to an away match for years now purely because of some of the moronic idiots that do go. The last three occasions we saw instances of violence and abuse, much more threat from our own than the oppositions fans. Really sad.

I was close to 30-40 ‘fans’ who for entire duration of the second half, repeatedly chanted ‘paedo’ at goalkeeper Dean ‘Hendo’ Henderson. It was absolutely pathetic and in no way funny or lighthearted. In fact, in light of everything going on in the game where that is concerned (see Crewe Alex. for starters), I found it offensive. One guy with a kid turned round and had a go at a lad for repeatedly shouting at it. The lad, possibly only in his late teens, laughed in the guys face, hurled abuse and basically said ‘others are singing it, why target me? Why should I stop?’ before starting up the chant again. Some Burnley fans are a disgrace

Special mention too for the rabble of mouth breathers chanting offensive songs and acting aggressively on the morning train from Leeds which was full of families and kids.
Re: Burnley fan v Burnley fan
Away games that relatively close by on a Saturday afternoon are always gonna attract a few idiots who are mainly there for a day on the lash. Nothing new there.
Re: Burnley fan v Burnley fan
Yesterday we were on row L right behind the goals. There were 3 or 4 younger blokes with an older guy who had a southern accent directly behind us on row M.
This older bloke was throwing abuse at every single Burnley player and also at Sean Dyche from the very 1st minute.
Despite there being 2 very young kids nearby he used every single swearword known to man every few seconds. This continued right through the game. He was joined now and then by the other blokes who he was with.
This " Burnley fan" who I guess would have been in his 50's was as obnoxious a person as I have ever come across. With what he was continually screaming he obviously knows little about football or in particular our club.
Do these people live their lives in the same manner or do they just reserve it for the football. We all know how highly charged it can sometimes be at games but this person was utterley repulsive to everyone around him.

Most of the day is spoiled by Neanderthals who know nothing about Burnley FC, our players or football in general and spend most of the game sticking V’s up at home fans.

I was in section c row m yesterday and yes I know we were awful first half but five blokes directly behind me were slagging off dyche, the team, the tactics and anything else they could think of from before the first whistle until half time when they decided to leave. Suffice to say second half they weren't missed. Thanks for your non support lads.

Not sure if this was the same incident as there certainly weren’t 30 or 40 in the exact area (maybe spread across) shouting. But I was very very close to a teen who kept shouting it, which I agree was a bit pathetic, pointless and annoying. A Guy in front turned round and had a go at him and though he had a point he was aggressive and threatening to the young lad to the extent an older chap intervened to try to calm the situation down, which it did eventually. In my opinion the guy could have easily handled and approached it better and his aggressive response resulted in others joining in for a few moments to try and wind the aggressive guy up.
I saw it as immature kid trying to be funny and an older burnley fan annoyed at the whole situation (game and misguided support). A mix of an awful performance, close away games and beer certainly seem to bring out the worst in some people.
