Simon Jordan
Just picked his top 3 performers in the Premier League over the weekend on TalkSport...Pereira from Leicester, Chris Wood and Dwight McNeil.

Deservedly so, quite a difficult choice really, reading all the match reports from the weekend, it's quite a surprise Reece James never got mentioned I believe he had an outstanding game yesterday.

Re: Simon Jordan
Nice bloke Simon. He was involved with one of my clients down in East Sussex before I retired..he was a big wheel with Crystal Palace at the time .Liked a pint and always spoke very highly of the Clarets set up..especially the financial side of things .There was a programme on TV recently where he was the victim of an armed robbery.

I think he was one of Danny Kelly's picks.Jakubclaret wrote:Deservedly so, quite a difficult choice really, reading all the match reports from the weekend, it's quite a surprise Reece James never got mentioned I believe he had an outstanding game yesterday.

Re: Simon Jordan
Although often believed to be pompous and up his own arse, I quite like listening to him on talksport with Danny Kelly. He's very knowledgeable on all things managerial and financial side of running a football club and quite often, surprisingly so, brings a bit of balance and perspective to that side of the game

Re: Simon Jordan
The problem is, he's with Danny Kelly. I remember watching Danny Kelly on TV and if the caller didn't agree with his opinion he was shot down. He just wouldn't listen to the POV of other people.ClaretFelix wrote:Although often believed to be pompous and up his own arse, I quite like listening to him on talksport with Danny Kelly. Couldn’t agree more. I used to have that impression of him but he is very good to listen to on TalkSport.ClaretFelix wrote:Although often believed to be pompous and up his own arse, I quite like listening to him on talksport with Danny Kelly. Re: Simon Jordan
He also touted Dyche for every job under the sun and said he definitely was interested in jobs like Everton and Palace (claiming they are a much bigger club than us)...if he was as interested in leaving as Jordan goes on about he would have gone by now....

Re: Simon Jordan
As has been said above, always a good listen when he's on Talk Sport.
Talks commonsense.

Re: Simon Jordan
I have met him a couple of times (my friend worked at Palace in the Dowie era). He seemed alright, or perhaps not as bad as you’d expect. He mainly lived in Marbella and, when in the UK, famously rented a suite at the Dorchester. He was passionate about Palace though having grown up on the streets next to it, so good on him. My mate smashed up one of his collection of sports cars in Marbella - he lost control and went up a banking and into a ditch off the motorway. That didn’t go down well.

Re: Simon Jordan
He was recently on a crime programme where someone tried to nick his £100k watch (yep - 100, not 40), and seemed to want to be on camera discussing it all. Clearly has an ego.

Be careful what you wish for, is a good read, made me laugh with him & Steve Bruce & the relationship collapse.

Re: Simon Jordan
He is absolutely the best person on Talksport by a country mile, very insightful, doesn't mince his words and talks a lot of sense. He proved me wrong, I previously thought he was a proper **** !
