Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
it will be, Disney have invested far too much cash into the whole franchise to risk it being a flop. You seen the trailer for the next film?

Doesn't look that good. Didn't like Episode 8 that much, thought it was poor.
I see Ewan McGregor has signed up for the Obi-wan franchise.

Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
I'm hoping it's good and I'm hoping the next mini series is a good one, it's centred around the main good bloke from Rogue One.
Of course at some point they'll make one that isn't so good, just like Star Trek have done, in some people's opinions.
Same with the films, not everyone likes them but it's all about opinions.
They've been able to observe and learn a lot from Star Trek in regards to building a Sci Fi franchise and making it endure.
I'm a fan of both franchises but at least with Star Trek it has multiple TV series that can be dipped in and out of quite easily and that's why it's a better franchise in my opinion.

Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
Looks interesting. Not interesting enough for me to subscribe to Disney's own channel to watch it like, so I'll wait for the streams to come out.
Looks like they've invested in the SFX heavily though, almost movie standard in the trailer.

Disney are launching their own content channel like Netflic/Amazon Prime - so you will have to pay for it - won;t be long before that will be the only place to get all their content, including Marvel Universe
Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
That may be the only way of watching it in the U.K. anywhere close to its release date. Disney+ isn’t likely to be available in the U.K. until next year sometime.Darthlaw wrote:Looks interesting. Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
I think they currently give the rights to netflix in the UK, so the chances are they might put it down the same until they establish Disney+ over here.
Just seen Pedro Pascal is playing the lead, which should be good. I've enjoyed his performances in Narcos.

Has anybody seen this yet? The first episode is getting rave reviews. Is there a way to get this in the UK by legal means?

Re: Star Wars TV series - Mandalorian
It's a shame they haven't been able to launch the service in the UK yet, as I'm sure this show will be massively pirated as a result.
I'll still subscribe to the Disney streaming service given that it's only a fiver, and there will be a wealth of stuff on there for me and the kids.
It looks to be much better than the one apple launched recently which seems to have had zero impact.

It was just about watchable even if it was directly lifted (The Wild Bunch anyone?) from every spaghetti western ever made.yTib wrote:watched it last night.

I liked the robot. Everything else was largely forgettable.
