Given that our away followings seem to be declining how about resetting everyone's points back to zero this summer, but any points earnt this season are kept? That way the people who've done the most away games this year will still be rewarded, but it becomes less of a closed shop.
Might even improve our away followings a bit, if people know they need to keep going to games to ensure they get tickets for the big games? That's how it works following England away, if you don't go to many games you start dropping down the points table and aren't guaranteed to get the tickets you want. How it should be IMO.

This is a decent idea or extend it and have it on a rolling two years so it only ever counts back two seasons?

It's one of the key selling points of a season ticket that they get priority.

I agree. As I spent many years travelling thousands of miles, one of a few on several/lots of occasions, I know how it feels when one week you are one of the few and the bext, not even in the pecking order. 10 points for awatmy attendance versus hundreds for a season ticket, with own seat, is not fair.

The one game away some attend, is often at the expense of those who travel from elsewhere, regularly. The season ticket hilders' right is the guarantee of their seat, for every home match, inc cup games. That's enough.

[quote="MACCA"]Excellent, better late than never.
Let's hope they act.

Although too late for me and my son to benefit, it may help the next generation, although I doubt the demand will be as high as the first few seasons in the premier league.

But on an earlier post you indicate you are going to Spurs

Its taken my Brother 9 years to get over 4000 points and me a damned site longer to get over 6000, so if we both want to go I have to wait for the 4000 points allocation to get his tickets.
Yes we are season ticket holders ... so why shouldn't we get more points, after all we commit to buying 19 home games up front, (and if like when I was on holiday cannot attend I lose that money I give my seat to a friend who takes my Brother)

We try attend around 4 to 5 away games a season (it would be more but obviously some are sold out in the 6000 points category). I've no problem at all with that tbh it is what it is and down to where we are in Footballs top tier.

Why shouldn't we have the ability to attend that occasional away game because we have amassed points.

There would be a hell of a lot complaining if it was 1st come 1st served on away tickets regardless and the regular away attendees couldn't go.

The system works ... it aint broke so why try and change it.

There is definitely an issue Booscat, when those who never go away, suddenly all want their just deserts for a 'sought after' away match at the expense of regular away attendees.

Perhaps, if was based on a fair points system, so that attending an away match attributed the same as a home season ticket holder. So 400+ points divided by 19 for each away attendance.
That should be the minimum.

I used to go miles and hardly get any points a season, compared to my ST points, I now get, which rapidly got me into the 4k club.

Remember having to go in Hospitalty at Coventry City away in the FA Cup in 2000 as we didnt have season tickets at that time. Think we lost 3-0 and Paul Crichton was in goal.

After that we have had season tickets ever since

If you ever book again to London with a friend, buy the two together card for a third off the price. The card lasts for a years worth of journeys but you would be 20 quid better off just for this one.

We only travel around once a year by train m8... I only booked this one because there were no seats on the Supporters club coach. But I know what you mean....

No one suggesting 1st come 1st served. A rolling points system over say, 3 seasons would ensure the people who did the most games got rewarded but that it wasn't the closed shop we have now. Anyone having a season or 2 of attending regularly would soon catch up.

Train advice. If you go on split my ticket there are a couple of £45 return options. That is Manchester to London. Only issue is a change in Crewe that adds an hour to the journey. 830 from manc getting in London at 1150. I couldn't find any cheap direct return ones.

My son had a season ticket for about 5 or 6 seasons from about 6, sadly he couldn't go on many big away games due to low points, and never really caught the away day buzz.

So didnt really make many memories together, and since has lost the buzz all together. He packed in his season ticket this season.
I'm Not saying going away often to all the nice big grounds causing the odd upset will have helped keep him hooked, but I know I prefer away days, and keeps my appetite wet.
Also most of my memories when I was growing up was from away games, big followings and the experience.

I know a few other kids/dads have done similar.

Now I can get any tickets for any game, he's not too fussed :-(
Shame really.

We've done similar 9.30 ish train £29.50.
Have a 30 minute wait at crewe, but at a £50 saving ratyer than going direct, I can cope with that!

Season tickets for years........travelled away as have many to the likes of Torquay etc, Plymouth, Halifax with the snow balls....pre-season such as Austria etc......attended all the various “dinners” etc.......and yes I have “the points” but probably do 6 or 7 away games a season....

So those who have popped up and want away tickets from points accumulated in the past few years..should be considered the”current best Clarets”?

I don’t think so.......

They’ll be the first to disappear if times changed.

We wasn't quite as quick off the ball and the 9.30 down and 19.30 back were about £78

So similar times via Crewe took an hour longer but the price were miles cheaper.

I guess that you've clicked on 10 tickets for each of the 4 categories, meaning that there are at least 40 left but that doesn't give any indication as to just how many are left. By putting fictious figures on here as to how many tickets are supposedly left you're possibly not doing any favours to fans hoping to buy tickets at 5pm with 2000+ points!

There is nothing sinister in it all. Leisure picked the method.
When I did it, it said you have too many in the box for the 23 tickets remaining. Then same with 24. 3rd time, it put 40 in the checkout.

Not making stuff up. I agree that that would ge unkind and the opposite was the intention, when the nos were low.

Club just tweeted me now saying sold out. Gutted, not missed an away game this season so far or plan to. Never mind, I'll visit next season

In terms of travel, 3 tickets from Stockport to Euston 1st class return for £200 or £66 each.
