He’s been on a charm offensive on tv the last few weeks. You never know he may be happier back living in London where I think his family still is.

Doubt Levy will loosen his purse strings enough for this prima donna - just another pay day for Jose in a few months.

Re: Jose New Spurs Manager
Interesting appointment.
It's either going to be spectacularly good, or a complete failure with no middle ground though
Proven track record of winning, they've got a shiny new stadium which they want to see regular CL football being played in.
They've got a good squad that just seemed to be falling apart a little at the seams and Poch didn't appear to have the strength to deal with the issues.
Utd was a mess before Jose rocked up and they aren't much better since he left.

Mourinho has done his best work with slightly smaller clubs.
Look, I think Spurs are mad but if you are desperate to win something and you don't care about the consequences, then there are not many better out there than Jose.

Car crash this. Absolutely hope and think they fail badly now. Mourinho is a busted flush and beyond that does not suit a club like Spurs from a financial standpoint...
This is a bit like (at our level) if we had replaced Dyche with Allardyce and can you imagine if we did it the day after sacking him. Terrible decision for me.

Announcing on the eve of the CL final that you're going to leave if you win isn't a sure-fire way in how to endear yourself to your squad and board. Potch lost the dressing room after that. Look how their players preformed for their countries in this last break.
Anyway, bang goes their record for playing entertaining football and bringing youth through.

I've just written a short article, as I do when a manager moves in our division, and I've used very similar words to yourself on this morning's appointment.Stayingup wrote:Just when I thought we'd got rid of misery guts Levy does a disservice to English football and brings him back. Gutted about the appointment
After being sacked by United I was optimistic that we had seen the back of the cheating slime ball.
He then signed for Sky with Roy Keane too - a real double whammy and I have stopped watching any match analysis when these 2 are on - I’d rather watch David Dunn and Colin Hendry than these 2 odious idiots.
And now he is back as a manager and we are subjected for the 4th time to his antics, complaining, cheating and self proclamation as the best manager the world has ever seen. The only potential silver cloud is that he continues to be the busted flush he has shown at United and Chelsea second time round.
I’m predicting Spurs 0 Burnley 6....(Barnes hat trick, 2 for Wood and one for Nick Pope)

I can understand Poch going they've gone stale over the past year, same squad, same manager and an ageing squad to boot,i'm not convinced Mourinho is the answer long-term,but what the Spurs fans want more than anything is trophies, and if he can deliver those even if he's not there for the long-haul they'll be happy.

I was shocked by the news yesterday. But Levy knows what he’s doing. Every appointment bar 1 or 2 have been bob on over the years with them. Poch took them to the level where they must now win something. With Jose they will. It’s a perfect match. He likes being the underdog (Inter, Madrid). I think he’ll have more of a chance of winning the PL with Spurs than he did Utd.
It’s great to have him back. He’s a prick no doubt. But he’ll be the first to admit he is and he doesn’t try shriek away from anything unlike that tosspot Guardiola.

Re: Jose New Spurs Manager
I must be the only one on here who thinks it is a fantastic appointment for spurs. The guy has made some bad career moves in the last couple of jobs however he now has a point to prove, with a set of players who will respond to him, at a club where he can instill that seige mentality that he thrives off. If he manages to win the league at Tottenham it will be his biggest achievement yet imo. They are in a similar position to what Chelsea were in 2004 whereby they were a biggish club but just didn't win trophies. I expect him to do very well.

Spot on. It’s a great match. People also forget just how good Chelsea were the first time he was there and second time they were also brilliant. He likes a strong striker (Kane) he likes tricky little players around him (Son, Alli, Erikson) and a strong defence. Everything is there already.gandhisflipflop wrote:I must be the only one on here who thinks it is a fantastic appointment for spurs.
