It is.
The pan faced dry man. Liked a few beers and a decent smoke.
I liked most of his stuff but, didn't always agree with his critical analysis of things.

James' analysis of the fools vying to be our next PM would have been worth listening to.

Reckon his analysis of UK politics as a whole, off camera, would have been worth a listen.
Wouldn't have been many prisoners taken. ;)

Indeed a clever chap, with a great sense of humour, the Japanese game shows were very funny. RIP Clive James.

Yes RIP Clive James. He was a funny man. I don't think Clive Anderson would be too impressed with his picture on here. :(

Sad loss, though I think he was given a year to live about 10 years ago, so he’s done well.

Clive James on Television was one of the best programs on the telly in the 80s/90s.

An excellent poet too, was Clive James.

We got an extra few years from him thanks to modern cancer treatment and we should all be grateful for that.

A very talented gentleman.

RIP

Very sad at this news last night. Spent many a happy time listening to that razor sharp wit delivered in that lazy Australian drawl. He was unique really and underneath all that humour was a real astute political commentator. As someone has rightly pointed out at his peak he would have been tearing strips off our current set of politicians.

A true star has gone.

Never saw his father didn't "our" Clive according to his (?auto)biography or some article I read years ago. Saddest of all Worlds was the fact that his father was a POW with the Japanese and he was killed in 1945 in the plane which crashed bringing Aussie POW's home after the war

I hope they bring back a series of doing his show, Margarita Pragitan could host with her organ.

RIP Clive you leave me many happy memories of you as presenter, journo and author. Ok Darlings.

That was bonkers wasn't it. A game show based on physical pain - only in Japan.

It's good to see how TV has improved over the years - then we had Clive James and now we have X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent. I'm sure Clive would have appreciated the irony. :D

Wasn't there one where they were hitting each other in the balls with sticks? Madness - utter madness.
