Appalling. I don’t care what age he is, it’s unacceptable. Hopefully he will be dealt with appropriately by both clubs and the authorities.

He’ll know full well what he did.
He’s apparently receiving education from Kick It Out. Not sure if that’s through whatever actions will be taken criminally.

Glad he was dealt with.
Usual gobshites now tarring the whole town with the actions of a minority or brain donors. Which is nice.

It’s happening virtually every week at one ground or another. Look at the bloke at the Manchester Derby. It’s shocking and it needs the strongest possible punishments.ZizkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:29 pmGlad he was dealt with.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
So if we sign a team full of oriental players will he not support Burnley ? Does the idiot at the Manchester Derby not support Walker and Sterling ? Does he cheer when Sterling scores ? Plain thick. Just ban adults for good. If this 14 year old got a 10 to 15 year ban he might learn the error of his ways. Doubt it will be that long though.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
How's that going to work if they have little money. I'm all for jailing them. We're far too soft in this country. We need a Goverment to stop messing about and bring in proper sentences instead if this constant slap hands brigade.Tread Warily wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 1:42 pmHit them hard in the pocket, and i'm talking in the thousands.Name them and Shame them.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
Just needs the equivalent of CAND or BAND or 'whatever your town begins with against nighttime disorder' whereby if you act like a dick in a pub then you are barred from every pub in the town.
So this young lad would end up with a nationwide football banning order for X years, as an example.
Get the fine, get banned from football and be put on a 'cultural awareness course' in the place where you committed the offence and bingo. This 14 year old lad has to travel to london every week for X weeks at his own cost (parents cost, probably) and inconvenience.
Make the punishment a proper ballache rather than a caution, community service or a fine.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
Club statement
Burnley Football Club is aware of an incident during the Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley game on Saturday, December 7.
During the Premier League game, a 13-year-old Burnley supporter was ejected from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following an alleged racist gesture towards Spurs player Heung-Min Son.
The minor, who was accompanied by a guardian, is now under investigation by the Metropolitan Police, with help from Lancashire Police and the two clubs.
In the meantime, Burnley Football Club will be contacting the teenager and his family, with a view to an enforced educational programme, run in conjunction with Kick It Out and Burnley FC in the Community.
Burnley Football Club would like to reiterate its zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination of any kind.
We will continue to work with the authorities to help eradicate the growing problem of discrimination within football, and we urge all our supporters to report any such issues, in the strictest confidence, via our dedicated matchday ‘Respect’ text service, on 66777, or the Kick It Out App.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
It should be an OTT punishment ( not saying it shouldn't be ) as its football related. Most football related crimes mean at least double ( most times multiple) of what the crime usually fetches if not at a football match.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 2:00 pmJust needs the equivalent of CAND or BAND or 'whatever your town begins with against nighttime disorder' whereby if you act like a dick in a pub then you are barred from every pub in the town.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
So a 13/14-year-old Claret has been ejected from Spurs ground for alleged racial abuse of Son. Not yet proven but people want him banned or whatever without him been proven guilty? somehow does not seem right to me but hardly surprising with the holier than thou attitude that prevails on this board.
Let's assume he is guilty does that mean he can be ejected from the ground, at a relatively young age , and put at the mercy of knife-wielding gangs
of violent Londoners.

“Growing problem” it says in the statement.
******** says I.
It’s nowhere near as bad as it has been, especially in the 80’s when it was embarrassing most every week.
Nowhere near as prevalent as it was, but good to see it’s getting called out when it happens.
Phenomenal player that Son btw.

It’s not that racism is increasing in this country far far from it it’s just that it’s getting called out more . The odd brain dead fan getting in a froth watching his team is nowt to do with racism but just badly educated imbeciles , you’ll find them anywhere tbf. They obviously find abusing a players because of his skin colour the easiest option

To say 13yr olds aren't allowed to roam around most football grounds or go the toilet on their own.
I wouldn't think stewards would let one roam around a rough as hell City on his own.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
I posted on another thread yesterday that I saw a group of 3 teenage lads involved in a lengthy discussion at half time with stewards and the Spurs safeguarding officer. This was in the tunnel under the away end. I’d wrongly thought it may have been because the kids had been threatened or worse, but now it seems it was this they were dealing with as one of the kids and an adult were led away whilst the rest were led back to their seats.
They (the Burnley fans, kids and adults) didn’t seem concerned enough for it to have been something as serious as this though and I didn’t witness the issue that led to this discussion.

At the moment it is alleged. However if proven and it was my child I'd look to myself first to see if I'd somehow influenced him then soul search.

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
A fourteen year old is not criminally responsible. Lads act completely out of character at that age when they are with mates, and will say things they would never dream of saying otherwise.
Was he with his guardians? If so why were they not ejected?
Highly stupid wannabe tough guy with mates just as OTT, and probably saying similarly stupid things but not heard. Education is the only option, and an upbringing where he aspires rather than seeks to be one of the gang... but has that not always been the case around east Lancs, in an area where traditionally the kids were spat into factories not encouraged to achieve at school?

The stewards at spurs were confrontational at wembley and by all accounts...this from spurs fans are troublemakers at the new ground to the point they think they're Arsenal supporters!! And going back a few years back didn't man utd have a gang of thugs as stewards? Tbh the ones I came across yesterday were fine. There were one or two Burnley tossas in town though.

The lad's 13. Who didn't do stupid things that they quickly regretted at a similar age?

Re: Burnley fan ejected at Spurs for racism
If guilty it is not good. But whoever is in charge of him should be the one who is punished as much as he is.
As a 13 year old kid clearly he is old enough to know better. But equally he needs educating not treating like he has murdered someone and possibly damaging him for the rest of his life over something unacceptable and naïve but something that can be dealt with.
Adults can change never mind 13 year old kids!

You'd hope that in 21st century Britain such crass behaviour would have been eradicated, but there's always a minority of idiots who can't help being bigoted.

We should have his head chopped off, with “racist” tattooed across his young forehead, swinging from a lamppost on Harry Potts Way, with his adult companion chained to the bottom of the post as a deterrent to all.
Or we could follow the clubs lead, reaffirm that racism is completely unacceptable, denounce the kid publicly, and show it is not tolerated at any age. Then ensure he is re-educated,punished suitably.....and with some evidence.
