I went to the polling station earlier and the majority were elderly, but it may just be the time of day.

Re: The UTC GE poll
It's a while since I voted Labour, and was always a Labour voter through teens/20's etc. but it's all become too tedious for my liking. Labour now are quite a scary prospect (Abbott...urghh) and for me, too willing to give handouts to those that don't deserve it, whereas the Tories are a bunch of liars who as always look after themselves and are happy to ruin public services and keep the divide between poverty and the elite as wide as possible....
So for me it's an independent (which will no doubt be incorrectly commented on as a waste of a vote) - 5

Re: The UTC GE poll
Labour for me, pointless singling out diane abbot as the party lunatic, because every party has several.
I do not like many of the dullards within the labour ranks, nor do I care for wishy washy policies on certain issues. If however the alternative is Johnson and his elitist s*i*bag cohorts, then its an easy choice.
Labour have said they are about NHS support, and seem intent on doing the right things with transport, housing, and education.
Lesser of two evils probably, certainly not a good place to be as a voter thesedays, we are mainly led by liars.

Interesting that this poll saw the Conservatives storm into an early lead before Labour clawed it back a bit.......once their voters had got out of bed.
On a serious note, at some point in my voting life, I have voted for each of the 3 major parties. I wouldn't dream of voting for a party lead by Jeremy Corbyn.

Quite depressing how , over the last 30 years I've drifted from voting for the candidate / party I like the most to voting against the one I dislike the most. Hopefully a good hammering for Jezza would bring about the return of a Labour I could vote for..

I live in Manchester.
I am voting SNP. Confidence 10.
For the first time in my life none of the English candidates deserve to be PM.
I have no confidence in any of them, where has the middle ground gone?
A middle of the road party would have a landslide victory.

what is alarming is the 14 million lazy b**t***s who can't be arsed voting at all. Imagine that. 14 million people who have no desire to shape the future and yet will doubtless moan at whatever outcome. Shame on them.

To keep Corbyn and his even more loony shadow chancellor out and even more importantly ensure that the referendum vote is upheld. Democracy must win and for once the EU must not get it's bullying way. Heseltine, Blair, Major, Greive and Campbell et el are a disgrace.
Good to see that almost all leavers have worked out that BP is a wasted vote.

I appreciate that you no longer support the party on it's current state but if your views are still "old labour", for want of a better phrase, how does this align with voting Tory?

Always voted for the independent candidate in every other election but this time I have to vote to Tory because the country needs to move on.
Tory 7

Has labour at 38.5% tories at 38.1% too close to call I think.

Re: The UTC GE poll
Can I just point out that all this talk of "tactical voting" is utter ********. People thinking it's new and they are being in some way clever.
Surely, every vote placed in every election or ballot that has ever taken place can be considered to be tactical, as it's placed with a view to that person achieving the result they desire!

It doesn’t align at all - but in a nutshell the current Labour Party has no clearly defined policies, they either sit on the fence or promise to do less or more than what others propose (imho) Lib Dem is just an opportunist bid for power. Tories seem to have the clearest idea of what they want to do and are the only choice left!

Don't trust a word Johnson says , can't actually stand him, but if he gets a Conservative majority the Withdrawal Agreement will get through Parliament.
This election has always been a People's v Parliament battle for me

The Greens have the main priority right. All I can hope for is that they will get a large total of votes (even though these are unlikely to lead to many seats) which will make a statement to the new government.

My vote doesn't really count anyway - it's a farming community so it's a massive Tory stronghold whether I vote or not. Voted tactically, so wanted to vote for Burnley and Padiham independent party but I reckon the anti marxists vote has to unite to get Cooper out.
