Living in an area with a huge student vote it's a straight fight between Labour and the Lib Dems - I'm guessing this is replicated across most of England at least, if not the UK as a whole - so I don't think it has a huge impact on the Tories as these are not and never have been their strongholds.

As far as students are concerned, especially at the elite universities, they tend increasingly to come from the more affluent south east. So if they are centre/left leaning they are far more likely to want to vote in the town/city where they are studying - I don't see it having an impact on the number of seats won overall.

Yes, I've lived up there myself. Is headingley Leeds central constituency? That's al massive area that also covers beeston and Middleton in South Leeds, where the "traditional" labour vote is strong.

No its Leeds North West so it covers a lot more of the affluent (more Tory) areas round the outskirts of that side of the city and out to Ottley. Id say its traditionally more Lib Dems but Labour and Tory's all do well here

Edit: Im prob wrong saying traditionally Lib Dems, id say its more just a very evenly split constituency which has moved away from the Tory's in the last 20 years as more students have tended to remain in the area after uni

I'm no Labour supporter but credible opposition is a good thing. Under Corbyn and his joke of a shadow cabinet Labour has become a laughing stock with ridiculous policies and spending plans.
