Good win important . But that was a dreadful watch. How much more goofball can we take?
Need to inject some pace and skill in January.

Re: Cant watch much more of that
It’s not pretty! Every other team comment about it and I’ve never really taken notice, just thought it was bitter. People talk of Stoke and how the grass wasn’t greener, we play far worse football than them! Look at Sheff Utd, that’s how we should be playing

Not sure “pace and skill” are considered requisite. It’s meat and two veg stuff that we’re about. Like it or lump it (literally).

Well I enjoyed it. Great atmosphere playing against a good old fashioned football club who have proper supporters, not glory hunters and tourist like the Manchester clubs.
I prefer to watch that than playing free flow football and get beat 0-1. Football is a results business and a win is all that matters

Bit of perspective. We were coming off the back of three poor defeats so the result was most important. The conditions weren't good. 12% of our passes were long balls. We prevented Newcastle having a single shot on target. And we won.

Utterly shite isn’t it.
This season will be my last with a season ticket for a while. At least until we get someone who wants us to play some football.
For some fans it’s all about the winning, fair enough, but I prefer to enjoy the football on show rather than looking at the table afterwards. I’m obviously in the minority’s there but so be it.

Brilliant, let's get Eddie Howe back and lose 4-3 every week. Who cares if we go down What a goon.

Just about bearable as we won, but thank goodness Newcastle were thread bare is all I can say.
We never even looked like we wanted to play, whether we were in between the lines or we had stolen possession.
Hopefully it was all due to the weather and is being s few bodies light and/or getting back upto speed.

Some people can swap there teams at will and watch anyone. As a fan of 50 odd years, after its been passed on through the genes by your Dad and Grandad before, I'm afraid there's no option, you stick with your team and watch what's on offer. I'm a Burnley fan. Well that's me anyway.

Re: Cant watch much more of that
It goes without saying that the game today was bobbins. Some of these comments though.
Are you a Burnley supporter?
It’s a simple question, and if the answer is yes, then it’s carry on regardless. Supporters of every club up and down the country and around the world support their team through thick and thin. Supporting a club isn’t conditional. We all want to see our club winning games and playing great attacking football, but no club does that season after season and only a few manage it the majority of the time. So for most of us supporting a team is about ups and downs. We’re very lucky that we’ve been riding the ups for years now. Yes, there’s a cost that that the football on show isn’t for best, but if you’re a true supporter that’s a small price to pay.
If you feel you’ve had enough of the football on offer, then fair enough. It’s your decision to make. But don’t take it personally when the ‘true’ supporters think they’re superior than you. They simply are. It doesn’t mean they want Burnley to win anymore than you, but it does mean they’ll be there when the club needs them the most. You probably won’t be.

Re: Cant watch much more of that
The first half was forgettable, with two teams cancelling each other out.
We were much the better side in the second half and I would rather watch us than the dross that Newcastle served up with their players continuously going down at the slightest hint of contact.
Spoiling tactics throughout the game.
Re: Cant watch much more of that
Well, I don't see every game but I'd say the last time I saw us play consistently good football were at Bournemouth last season. Admittedly it only lasted for about 20 minutes but it were a joy to behold. We played some decent stuff in the Championship, but even in that league we had to grind out some gritty wins,to put today into context Newcastle have beaten Man Utd and drawn with Man City recently as well as going to Bramall Lane and winning, today was always going to be a battle, thankfully we edged a win.

Take a reality check. This is Burnley, not Barcelona!
Had a little chuckle to myself this afternoon. Mee passed to Tarks who passed to Westwood who passed to Mee. All were in our half, legitimate and safe passes. Immediately, the cry went up from 3 or 4 nearby wannabe managers: "Get it up field!"
You just can't win

We played the same type of football that we have been playing for most of Dyche's tenure
We won and got three points today so everyone expects it to be happy days (and that includes me for the next 24 hours given our current league position)
Would the same have been said if we had lost - just like we did against Palace
The style of football is pretty dour but its all that Dyche knows
Forget about any change with new signings - additions will continue to play to the same tactic as it is the only system Dyche has any self confidence with

I thought it was OK today to be honest. First half was decent with both teams playing some nice football second half we pushed and created and once we got the ball we did what we do best. Shut up shop and saw the game out professionally.
Cotterball was boring, personally I found the shite under Howe hard to watch too, Dyche's teams aren't always pretty but they are effective and nowhere near as bad as some like to make out.
