Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
This is some seriously poor football.
Pope’s been on his arse twice and his kicking is atrocious.
It’s still 0-0 though so that’s a bonus.

We lull the opposition (and fans) to sleep with our style of play... and then score when they are sleeping

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
How long do you get to take a corner??
Ref awards it.
Waits for Westwood to get over to take it then blows for half time

What an absolute waste. Cock about with the ball for so long that we can’t take the corner. We really are our own worst enemy at times.

Happy with 0-0. Get Barnes on for JRod and get McNeil involved and we could nick this

It's so frustrating watching Burnley play at times.
That corner was a perfect example.

0-0 decent enough so far,the longer it stays level the pressure will grow on Everton.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
We have been time wasting since the first minute. Totally deserved the ref blowing and not allowing the corner. Tarks has been excellent and Pope except his kicking. Ok defensively overall, an absolute shambles with the ball. Almost getting unwatchable at times this season. Disgusting football but I guess we'll all take it if we get a result. Better get something, can't take watching this rubbish and losing.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
That first save from Pope was brilliant, the Brian Blessed impersonator behind the commentator having a moan every minute has kept me entertained, niggly game, we're well in it and not 3 down or owt although Everton could be 2 or 3 up on another day, some good moments, some lethargic, Corks run his socks off, McNeil tracking back his man too, defence pretty good and strong, too much space for them as they run through the middle, looking forward to second half and hope to see Barnes hassling them at some point.
Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Dyche is not bothered about pretty football it's all about results

Solid half. Think we've pressed well.
Pope made some excellent saves so far.
Just need to keep it tight and frustrate them.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
We are the masters of defending and keeping teams at a safe (ish) distance and defending is one of the artforms of football. So not really "non Football"
Sadly, we possess very little of the other artforms that make up the whole. That's why we are not very attractive to watch.
Effective yes, attractive, no !!!
Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Well one manager will be adjusting his tactics to try and win , and one will be saying same again lads brilliant half

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
As usual, we need to be brave and play the ball on the deck, it's not as if booting it long eases the pressure. As pleasing as it is, we can't keep stealing 3 its, sometime we are going to have to go out and earn it. Hopefully today.
The first 5 mins will tell the tale.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Watching that first half answers all the question around why we don't sell out at home, and why away attendances are dwindling.
Mindnumbingly boring, turgid stuff. 0 entertainment IMO, and entertainment is what folk spend their hard earned coin on.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
5 years ago, fair enough. But it's like he doesn't support signing players with technical ability and always plans this route, regardless of who he has available. We aren't evolving at all and one would surely expect us to be playing better football than when we were in the Championship.

I can definitely see attendances dropping in the near future even if we stay up, £40 for pure rugged defending is a **** takeBarry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 4:00 pmWatching that first half answers all the question around why we don't sell out at home, and why away attendances are dwindling.

Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
I dont think he can play in a 2, or centrally. Best on left of a 3. His goal to minutes ratio is fine, but it's mainly been as we are pelting the box in the latter stagesFactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 3:43 pmHas been every game he's started.
He isn't a starter, he's an impact sub. But looks like Barnes is being rested for the next game and with Vydra going, he's our only choice unless we went 4-5-1.
Re: Italian Toffees versus MIGHTY CLARETS
But, according to SD, he would play a much different style if he had better players
Hmm, try signing some then
