They can't even beat a team that has nothing to play for.

Re: Sheff Utd
Imagine if we only had 27% possession in a game and didn't manage a single shot on target.

Re: Sheff Utd
I know this is tongue in cheek, but how refreshing is it to see an underdog with vastly inferior resources pushing one of the big boys all the way.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:55 pmImagine if we only had 27% possession in a game and didn't manage a single shot on target.
Yes they were outdone by City's quality in the end, but were unlucky with the first goal they conceded given the chance came due to the referee and were very much on top for the majority of the second half.
The style of play is outstanding and they cause teams all sorts of problems with ultimately a championship quality squad.

I saw passing to a team mate on the floor and plenty of energy and very organised and in the end very unlucky - but don't let that put you offTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:55 pmImagine if we only had 27% possession in a game and didn't manage a single shot on target.

Re: Sheff Utd
Interesting when you talk about stats
Sheffield United 205 shots with 66 on target, 3 hit the woodwork and scored 23 goals, 3 of which were scored from outside the box.
Burnley 193 shots with 67 on target, 4 hit the woodwork and scored 23 goals, 4 of which were scored from outside the box.
They have been offside 47 times and we have been offside 46 times.

It will be interesting to see how they fare in the second half of the season, as they will be no surprise package now.
Fair do's to them so far, they have massively out performed expectations.

Re: Sheff Utd
Not really tongue in cheek. I didn't see the game but checked the result then saw this thread, which seemed at odds with the stats which cause meltdown when we produce similar.Row Z wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 8:14 pmI know this is tongue in cheek, but how refreshing is it to see an underdog with vastly inferior resources pushing one of the big boys all the way.

I'm getting a bit bored of the Big Blades Love-in to be honest but it's the same every season; a team comes up who apparently show us what we should be doing. First it was Brighton, who haven't performed any better than us, then Huddersfield followed by Fulham and we know what happened to both of them. No wonder there's so much excitement when the season's standard-bearers are actually performing better than us.

Re: Sheff Utd
You should have watched the game then.. not many teams, especially with the quality of their squad, will take the game to man city as much as they did today.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 9:19 pm
