Wesley Injury
Hopefully not too bad for the lad. Fair but strong challenge from Mee but seen a still and his knee gets badly twisted in there. As for Burnley fans booing someone being stretchered off, we really do have some neanderthal supporters, park that behaviour in the same category as those who sing the Jack Walker song

Not nice to see. But Villa especially are a club I have no sympathy for when it comes to injuries.
Never seen a team feign so many injuries and roll around. Another aspect of modern football ruining it. Youd have thought they'd have learnt from last week.
Hope he recovers. But equally hope the injury faking is soon a thing of the past. Dont know how a grown man can do it.

What shenanigans? Wesley clearly had what he thought was a serious injury given his immediate call for assistance. To boo a player who is down with a potential serious injury is appalling to be honest. I hope it isn't too bad and likewise with Tom's. It's not often you see two players from one team stretchered off in a match.

Wesleys a well known diver and cheat and is forever crying wolf .Though no one ever likes to see a player injured , perhaps if he hadn’t tried to fall into the box after a fair challenge the fans would have been a touch more sympathetic .
Diving and feigning head injuries has reached new levels of hysterical fakery with odious turds like Grealish and James at Utd who plays dead most weeks

I know most fans will disagree with me and say footballs going soft but I do sometimes agree with away fans when they say we go in far harder than needed, Danny Fox used to do, as does Tarky. Win the ball but hurt the man, I think that has left the game, certainly in the Premier League. Like I say, I’m probably in the minority on that one but stand by itClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:07 pmWhat shenanigans? For fans not able to see the lad down, Jimmy M James H and part of Bob Lord they see yet another player who will jump up and be cured once they have wasted time and convinced the ref it really initially hurt but is better now! Sadly reactions were wrong on this occasion but I understand the story of the boy who cried wolf too often.

People are commenting about crying wolf, I get that if they jump straight back up... The lad was literally being stretchered down the tunnel when being booed... At that point I think it's pretty obvious he's badly injured!

Watched all game on TV
Advantage over being at game is that it shows incidents several times from different angles
I never saw any play acting by Grealish as when tackled fairly he was unable to stay on his feet and was caught by our players legs
Oliver was spot on with his decisions
Perfect example was in the Derby v Charltongame when Gallagher ( a player many of our posters wish to sign) was booed all game as he was player injured by the Derby player who got the red card
I saw it 5 or 6 times and it was the most obvious red card of the season ( 2 footed studs showing in players leg)
Derby fans in crowd saw once and thought he was play- acting

You really do spout some shite don't you? If you heard it then you are the only person who did and we even had the situation where Tom, on a stretcher, was applauding the Burnley fans in the Longside as he was taken past and the Burnley fans responded. He'd got a terrific ovation from the Jimmy Mac end too ahead of the second half.

100% there was some people in the Burnley end booing Heaton while he was on the ground before he got on the stretcher, please rewatch before trying to claim I’m a liar and making it up for no reason. To be fair he probably did hear booing, but I thought it was because VAR was checking the goal, I didn't think it was aimed at HeatonClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:49 pmYou really do spout some shite don't you? There was booing whilst Heaton was on the ground, but I don't believe it was aimed at Heaton himself, rather it was aimed at the situation, and how long it was perceived to being resolved. Probably out of frustration.

Re: Wesley Injury
There was some booing at first when they thought he was wasting time, but the replay on the big screen showed what had happened and then it changed immediately to applause and chanting Heaton's name.
To be fair to the fans, there were a good few times Villa players went down and tried to waste time, I think there was one directly after we kicked off again after Tom went off.
They were even worse at Villa Park for their home game.

I know most on here won't agree and say he won the ball but I think Ben Mee's gone in to do him there. At best you can say it was extremely clumsy.

Of course, we had quite a wait before the goal was actually given. The booing changed to a huge cheer when Oliver pointed to the centre spot to confirm the goal.

It will not be, however, perhaps it should be a lesson for all players who not only droo to the ground but also feign injury. In the end, no player on the ground is considered injured, when they actually are.
Pity that it has all come to this.

Obviously not pleased the lad is genuinely hurt, but when players roll around on the floor like this - you must agree it can be difficult to be sympathetic and ofcourse feel that his injuries are genuine at the time, without replays.

Re: Wesley Injury
There was booing for the first minute plus after the goal because we were waiting for VAR. There was further booing for a little while after because after the ref had signalled goal, he then held up play again while listening to his earpiece, and some of us (me aand others around me) hadn't seen that Heaton was injured and receiving treatment. Everyone else was in position to kick off.
So I suspect from your armchair viewing point that you didn't get a good view of who was booing, when they were booing, or why they were booing.

I did hear some booing but I think it was directed by some at the medical staff who took an age to get the stretcher on the pitch and then an age to leave the field of play.
