Was it a dig at the fans?
Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
I read it as that.
A type of " I know best" comment, or an "i must have missed his contributions" for him to deserve that.
But we have tried to move him on a couple of times, and it does seen Mr Dyche does not want to play him unless necessary.
Think all the talking through papers and in his homeland hasn't gone down to well, and has got Mr Dyches back up.

You can have Wood & Barnes upfront, with JayRod coming on from the bench...
Or you can have.... The Mystery Box!

I think if it was a dig then if it was followed by something positive or funny then it wasn't a dig to take seriously.

Can we not have Wood and Jay upfront, then depending on how it's going decide on Barnes or the mystery box?
Some games look like they need the movement and trickery of balls into feet around the box, the sort Jay and Vydra offer.
Defenders hate being moved about and facing their own goal, give them seeing all the play infront of them, and heading away long balls from deep all day.

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
All a bit pathetic and unnecessary from Dyche.
Would have been nice for him to acknowledge it and that it gave the crowd a lift.....for the first time in months.

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
A bit churlish and unnecessary from Dyche really. Similar to the way he dug McNeil out after the Everton game.

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
Vydra falls into the category of so many non-playing 'saviours' we have had over the years - they get more incredible with every game they don't play or every transfer window we don't buy them.

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
He does like to keep things in house and probably didn’t like paper, social media and agent talk criticising the club, his methods or lack of game time. Even Barton kept a lid on things to do with the club whilst here. That’s why the negative and public Drinkwater event was so uncharacteristic for a player at our club.
Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
I love Dyche but in interviews he can be very sarcastic. I’ve also seen him give a presentation with a Q & A and he can be pretty cutting with anyone who disagrees with him - along the lines of why would a plumber know better than him how to do his job...he’s got a point too but for this he is clearly having a dig at fans who are having a dig at his team selection and not picking Vydra. Again he may be correct in his view of Vydra but he’d be better not making the comments IMHO.

If Sean Dyche thinks Vydra is as shite as some people reckon he does, why bother even having him on the Bench? Why not offload him this month?

Strange comments to be honest. Seems a dig at player and fans.

A bit like we love the underdog tag when dished out by the press.
I cheered when he came on because he is clearly an underdog within the squad and it's good to see him getting out of the kennel

It’s pretentious, obnoxious and dismissive of the player and the fans. Other than the journo’s who never challenge him on anything he says I can’t see any guffawing from anyone.

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
If Dyche doesn’t want the fans to sarcastically applaud Vydra’s entrance he should make sure that (pre Villa) we aren’t bottom of the table for shots taken. People wouldn’t want Vydra on if we had 35 goals so far, they want him on because we often struggle to create shooting opportunities.

Seemed to get the biggest cheer of the game when they called his name over’t tannoy.
Just seems a proper odd signing. If we’re just going lump it every game, why not just buy another lump?

Re: Dyche "intrigued" with Vydra reception
Perhaps it was simply an ironic joke ? Perhaps Vydra can be a bit lazy and uncooperative , flounces off the training pitch occasionally , has had run ins ( minor ones ) with the gaffer. Or perhaps SD needs a high end CM to be able to accommodate him
Though let’s be in no doubt SD does not react well to pressure and I think we all know the relationship is coming to a gradual end

Others will take it for what it is ; a throwaway comment, amplified by Lancashire Live to pull in the gullible, disgruntled "fans" who are more than happy to have a go at Dyche and the club.

If you are looking to take offence you will, nothing wrong in what he said I was also surprised at the reports of his reception. Dyche is often full of praise for the fans take the rough with the smooth.

Yes I do.
Ordinarily I stick up for SD but felt this was uncalled for.
As pointed out by Beamish, he’s effectively having a go at the real hardcore fans.
As for Lancs Live......they’d have nothing to report had he not been an arse and said it in the first place.

I think maybe Dyche said something he wish he hadn't, and then tried to recover. I think now more than ever we need Vydra. And I dont think that will make a blind bit of difference to his opportunities

Recently many have just been questioning that if you’re going to set up in a way that your main out ball is a long uncontrolled punt over the top that could only be effective if you had a pacy player up front then why don’t you play the pacy player at least for the last half hour or why don’t you change the way you play
