Remember this when you're asking why Dyche won't bring Vydra on

Did Drinkwater fail to pick up De Bruyne then, leading to the goal.

Make that 3 , commentary said the Villa midfield is not functioning at all.
De Bruyne just skipped past DD and it’s 3-0.

Lock up your girlfriends, DD will definitely be drowning his sorrows tonight after this wretched performance.

Could rival Woodgates infamous debut for Real Madrid this! Still think the time to judge Drinkwater is after a run of games. Not exactly easy getting thrown in against City when you've barely played for 2 years.

Killjoy. He could barely hide his joy at leaving us for Villa, deserves every bit of criticism he is getting.

Partly responsible for 1st and 3rd goal; fully responsible for the 2nd. Game over. Well done Agent Drinkwater.

Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
Looks like Dyche was right not to play him
At least he was nowhere to be seen for the third so only cost Villa two

Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
Obviously you can’t judge him on one game. But maybe Dyche didn’t play Drinkwater because he didn’t look fit or sharp enough in training, as many people suggested. And this 30 minutes would back that up.
Still - you wouldn’t like to admit you were wrong and would prefer the ludicrous idea that Dyche would persist in playing ‘inferior’ players because they’re his favourites.

Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
He’s been garbage but he’s only gonna get fit by playing and given villa were never gonna beat City this is an ideal game to play him in.
Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
Odd isn't it. I want villa to lose 10-0 with a DD stinker and get relegated with Norwich and Eddie's Bournemouth. Some utc want the opposite so they can post about how they are more knowledgeable than dyche and they should have listened to them.creepingdeath wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 5:05 pmWhere’s everyone gone who wanted DD to have a blinder?

Not sure fitness has anything to do with the goals he's allowed to be conceded, try passion and commitment, he appears to have neither.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 5:07 pmHe’s been garbage but he’s only gonna get fit by playing and given villa were never gonna beat City this is an ideal game to play him in.

The good news for him is that he can’t get any worse.
Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
I still believe Drinkwater would’ve been good for us long term, looks shite for Villa so far though and wasn’t great for us while on the pitch, I still think he needs a run of games to get really up to speed before judging him and I wouldn’t look too much into his 2 shite performances against City.

Re: Dean Smith & Drinkwater
Doubt Drinky will last 60 mins, treading water already.
Twice he's dashed at De Bruyne and arrived just after DB has slipped away and set up the last 2 goals. On that 4th one, it looked like he tried to catch DB's heels as he slipped forward but coouldnt get near enough.
It has to be said that City are looking very sharp this afternoon and it's not a great game to make your first start in for your new team.
