Another top gesture

Post by MACCA » Sun Jan 12, 2020 7:53 pm

Another top gesture this time from Ryan Lowe the Plymouth Argyle manager, he paid for breakfast for each supporter using the clubs supporters coach to Carlisle.
They set off as 4am for the 800+ mile round trip

Some journey is that! Not a cat in hells chance I’d go on a coach for that game unless it was an overnight stay

For some away games in the 60s, we used to set off for Burnley games at Friday midnight on Central Motors.

Yeap, remember drinking around town on Friday night and then getting on the coach at the bus station at midnight. Going to Brighton was one that I recall. And no toilet on the coach in those days!

Central used to set off at ridiculous times in the morning for London games. And once got back from Cardiff so late we had to thumb a lift to Haslingden because we had missed the last bus. Oddly that day me and a mate got a lift off Paul Fletcher as far as Rawtenstall. Picked us up near the old Bull & Butcher.

Do you remember the old chant on the coach...we want a wee wee/we want a wee wee? Those were the days eh?
