Re: Derby...naughty football!
Would be weird if a guy with the business acumen (to go with the absolute mountains of cash) that Mel Morris has, had messed up on the FFP rules. These people make loads of money by being extremely clever in business, so surely they're not daft enough to not see breaches of FFP before they happen.

Re: Derby
This was inevitable. Clubs have been bending the rules to get round FFP.

Re: Derby
Wednesday got charged before Derby so may be interesting to see what they get, Birmingham got a nine point deduction last year, so would expect the same,So what will be the punishment?

Re: Derby
Good to see they’ve made a bit effort to correct it this season.

Re: Derby
It's a gamble for a lot of clubs in the Championship, is it right though that the ones who go up avoid the punishment?

Re: Derby
Its a shame Dirty Leeds never got punished previously.
Their owners have circumvented the punishments for rule breaches with some very nifty legal footwork

Re: Derby
Too clever by half as me old mum would say.
Selling the ground in a convoluted way, using 32 Red money to buy Rooney, shirt number er, 32, sacking Keogh to save money while two named others and two un-named players involved in the same crash escape with fines. **** club, hope they get hammered.

Re: Derby
It's that payment into the accounts for the sale/leaseback of Pride Park to Mel that's being questioned I presume, if that is legit then they are Ok.
Without that sale they've well passed the £39 million over 3 years total (in fact lost £30 million+ just in 17/18 without that transaction I think).
Rugby Union stamped down hard on rule bending by Saracens, hopefully EFL will follow.

Re: Derby
As much as I'm not fond of Keogh, I really hope they get nailed for that. Disgraceful.

Re: Derby
@TariqPanja may not be wrong on this
"EFL decision on Derby today comes after leadership change at the league. Wondering why Shaun Harvey didn’t deal with it when he was in charge. Strange."
Rick Parry may be pushing things in the right direction? Dave Baldwin could well have the right kind of support when he joins the EFL

Re: Derby
The club have released a statement saying the charge from the EFL is unlawful
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51152166
given how long it has taken the independent commission could rule against the EFL if recent evidence is anything to go by

Re: Derby
Why are they not now referred to as " Phillip Cocu's Derby County " ...
