6 million has been put on his market value set the bar high
He's playing against Norwich at the weekend if he scores an hat trick
For a premier out fit 10 million will be justifiable we have a closes set in stone for extension
If he can bag a few it will be a master stoke UTC

Boro fans don’t rate him. They say he’s the worst centre half they have.

Not sure if this is already posted or not. Sounds promising given todays news on Wells.

Dael Fry won't be happening. He went over injured last night after 37 minutes and Woodgate said it would take a bid of 30m to sign him, while also discussing wanting to sign Ben Gibson with the media.
I'd personally tell Boro and Bristol City to take a run and jump for Gibson and Wells if they want to play hardball.

This guy is very quick and a decent player. We will never sign him though, even if he is a great value player on the market.

Exactly the type of player we should be after but dont seem to want to go for these type who would fit into English football quite easilyjojomk1 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 7:31 amA goal scoring wide man ?

How in gods name do you know that?
There are English players moving between English clubs who don’t fit in to their new environment. Every foreign signing is a gamble. This guy looks interesting but your remark is fantasy.

Joe Allen eyed by Burnley boss Sean Dyche
EXCLUSIVE
Burnley are mulling over a bid for Joe Allen after boss Sean Dyche made a personal check on the Welsh international.
Dyche was at The Hawthorns on Monday night to see struggling Stoke win at table-toppers West Brom in the Championship.
Welsh midfielder schemer Allen, 29, made his 26th appearance of the campaign in the win and is the Potters’ vice-captain.
But he is one of the club’s top earners after relegated Stoke fought to keep him on a new deal in 2018 until 2022.
Yet with the club’s promotion ambitions having gone up in smoke for the second successive season, Allen may now be sacrificed.
New boss Michael O’Neill is looking to rebuild the squad and it may suit Allen to play Premier League football again ahead of the Euros.
He was in the team of the tournament in 2016 when Wales made the semi-finals and has 53 caps.
Allen left Liverpool for Stoke in a £13million deal in July 2016. Stoke are four points above the drop zone in 21st position.
Fellow Premier League strugglers West Ham have also been linked with a move for Allen.

Not an ideal signing for the future but if he still has the desire, unlike DD, he could be just what we need to fight relegation now.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 9:52 amJoe Allen

Keep signing players with no resale value so we can keep complaining on how little money we have to spend.

He'd be ideal for us at the moment in midfield. Certainly would be pushing for a starting place, which is what we need.summitclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:00 amNot an ideal signing for the future but if he still has the desire, unlike DD, he could be just what we need to fight relegation now.

Joe Allen past it at this level. That ship should have sailed. If that’s the best we can come up with it’s very poor. Let’s get a hungry younger player in.

Now we're talking. Watched him for Stoke the other night and i wouldn't say he looked like he's lost it.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
29 is a god age for a midfielder, he has shown what he can do, and he has every reason to want to push himself if given the chance, internationally and in the Premiere League. I would take him no problem. However we know how faithful Dyche is to the starting 11 and for good reason sometimes, so Im not sure he would break in to the the 11 unless there was an injury.

Joe Allen would be a good signing for right now. We do need to look at progressively reducing the age of the squad though.

Joe Allen bossed the game v WBA and he was the main reason Stoke won
Some good tackles and probing runs

Why? Bardsley has been a great signing when you look at the fee and games we've gotten out of him.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:54 amAnother signing from Stoke could tip me over the edge.
Pieters is decent cover for the fee.
Crouch was only ever meant to be there in an emergency.
None of them have been a total disaster.

You're all kidding yourselves when we all know the best we can hope for is Wells being recalled so that Vydra will have someone on the bench next to him that he can talk to
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Is he any better than Cork or Westwood? Surely we have to be looking to improve our starting XI. It's not like he's at an age where he will improve either.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I'm not trying to be funny here, but I dont think we can get any improvement that many fans want - to do that we really would need to reach the realms of unrealistic transfer fees and wages and mortgage the future of the club on success that is not guaranteed. To improve on where we are currently is to effectively try and break into the top 6-10 of the Premier League and do that regularly. Many teams have tried and failed, and I think our pragmatic approach is the right approach.
I think our transfer policy recently has been adequate, with the view to reinforce what we have and hope to bring in youngsters who may challenge after development.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I'd say he probably is better than Cork and Westwood.
Played over 100 games for Liverpool and in a Europa League final with them.
A mainstay in Wales' Euro 2016 team that reached the semi-finals and was named in the team of the tournament.
Granted a few years ago, but he's still the same age as both of them and neither have achieved anything close to that.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We're not going to get that type of player in this window with hiked transfer fees. What we need is a midfielder and striker that is as good as what we have and can push for a place, give us an alternative or cover for injuries. Basically replacements for Barnes and Drinkwater. The likes of Allen and Brownhill fit into that category. This will hopefully see us through to the summer and give SD the chance to change some of the squad in the summer.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I'd have no problem, per se, with Allen. He's exactly the sort of profile of player that we've mined to huge effect in recent seasons - good CV and undervalued because he's gone out of fashion a bit. See Westwood, Cork and others for other examples.
The only note of caution I have is that he's shorter than Westwood, and for the way we play we need at least one midfielder who is decent in the air. that means he's only really an alternative to Westwood and not to Cork. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Cork and I think he's grossly underrated by our fans but it would be handy if our midfield replacement had the tools to replace either of the incumbents.
Ultimately I think Brownhill would be the better signing because he provides more options to the squad (both by being a more natural alternative to both Westwood and Cork, and because he can also play right across the midfield), and adds a bit more youth and athleticism, but Allen is a solid alternative. No doubt Vokes and Ward can give glowing testimonies.

Not that Burnley fans are fickle or anything.
Joe Allen.... was out of our league when he went from Liverpool to Stoke
Burnley fans demand total loyalty.... Joe Allen extends his contract to try and help Stoke get back.
As a box to box midfielder who can run the engine room but...
Now he’s too old at 29 and past it (what????)
The mind boggles at some many football masters on here instead of working in the game. What a waste of talent by Burnley FC.... no wonder we’re in such a mess (?)
