He did some rather good documentaries. The one about the Crusades is well worth watching. I hope the BBC repeat it.

A main player in The Life of Brian. The funniest film I have ever seen and I have seen it countless times.

Blessed are the cheese makers. RIP Terry Jones

Certainly one of the funnier elements of an extremely talented team. Good grief I feel old. Neil Peart from Rush dying recently as well, one of the finest drummers that ever lived (and he wasn't that old).

I was awaiting your post on this Boss. I know you are a massive fan because you can quote more lines from the Pythons than I can.

If it makes you feel any better 'he isn't dead, he's just sleeping'. I know Jones wasn't directly in that sketch but it seems apt.

Very saddened by this news. Real class act, very funny man, my favourite Python. He once said that he didn't consider himself to be a comedian....fooled me! With Palin he wrote the truly hilarious Ripping Yarns which is well worth a watch. Worth remembering also that he directed as well as performed in The Life Of Brian, perhaps the funniest film ever made (imo). A very talented man. RIP

Oh no! Another significant part of my youth dies. Monty Python and the films, not forgetting Ripping Yarns (Across the Andes by Frog!)
This living malarkey can be quite depressing at times ☹️

I don't know if anyone's ever read them, but he wrote two books of "Fairy Tales" which are absolutely great, especially for kids (with fantastic illustrations, but not by him). The story of "Eyes All Over" is brilliant, as is "The Ship of Bones". A great mind and will be sadly missed.

Did he have something to do with Brazil (the film) or was that another Python. I remember Erik and Labyrinth.

Terry Gilliam directed 'Brazil' Ian he was probably heavily involved as him and TG were best m8s ... but if memory serves TJ also directed or certainly was a producer of 'The Time Bandits'

Jaberwocky seems to go under the radar when people talk about Pythonesque films and I bloody love it. Second only to Life of Brian (with Holy Grail third). :D
